junkmanted 54 Posted April 2, 2014 i wouldn't want to scare the anti gunners with pictures . I would go with the 1919 . More reliable . more accessories, I have mine mounted on a polish wheeled mount that also turns into a AA mount , I also have a AA MG42 mount adapted for the 1919 . The RPD links are a pain to get and cut , and they dont last . I have never had a bad 1919 link but a bunch of RPD's. Get spade grips and a pistol grip . I made up a custom set of grips , I used the cut off pieces of the pistol grips . Theres a guy at the gun shows selling the steel signs and he also make a spade kit , you bend them and make your own handles , I think they are 30 bucks. I have his email if you ever want them. The_Matrix 105 Posted April 3, 2014 Nope not at all just wanna get an idea do I want an rpd or do I go all in and get that 1919a4 bundle that OOW has, plus on the 1919 do you guys like the pistol grip or you prefer the spade grips. Get the spade. A lot cooler.
Fishpaw 17 Posted April 3, 2014 First is a 1919 with spade grips and a flash hider. The FH is the evil feature as there is no pistol grip. The second one is a 1917a1 water cooled. Both are in 7.62x51
Njbanshee 9 Posted April 3, 2014 I want a 1919, but my pockets aren't deep enough for one. I'm gonna start with the RPD and see how I like it.
Fishpaw 17 Posted April 3, 2014 Hu ? no shoulder stock ! my rpd yes and 1919 has a clamp on stock , OK...MANY of them do not have a shoulder stock. The 1919a6 with a shoulder stock is not a common config. There are many others that do not have a shoulder stock such as the Maxim, Vickers, SG-43 Goryunov and a bunch of other tripod mounted guns. Henry3941 0 Posted June 16, 2014 I would like to get either a semiauto MG34 or MG42. How does one make these NJ legal due to the pistol grip and flash suppressor? I guess you could alter the FS but that leaves the treads for the booster which might be considered a treaded barrel eventhough it isn't actually on the barrel it's self. Thanks for any input.
