best way to preserve display guns

so I have several guns that I don't shoot but they are on display in a glass front cabinet. I have been taking them out every 2-3 months and wiping them down with CLP. I am wondering if there is a better way to preserve them. I don't want to wipe them down with motor oil and have them look all slick and have dust sticking to them. I also would be worried about the wood on some of them I would not want motor oil to penetrate the wood and stain it.
