1911 Extractor Adjustment

Recommended Posts

Had this gun for two years, occasionally had a stovepipe and not mag related. Did the extractor test today and had 3 FTE. Anyone ever adjust their extractor? Specifically should I get a trigger pull gauge and where do you start to bend the extractor?

Here's the results from today, one stovepipe and the internal FTE was one handed, one stovepipe was two handed. All precious FTE were last round.

Les to do it properly you should use a trigger pull gauge and there are several extractor adjustment tools with gauges for both 9mm and 45 acp that make the task very simple and reliable,  I have the brownell one that is very good and always took care of any issues. Good luck and take care.
