Cumberland Rifleman in Millville

Recommended Posts

No guest fee, but you must be signed in and accompanied by a current member.

Except to participate in a scheduled match, then the gate is locked open for the duration of the match.

The high power season resumes in the spring.

But ... I'm planning on going down there tomorrow afternoon to play on the new pistol plinking range for a couple of hours (if the rain has stopped by then).

I know it's short notice, but if tomorrow afternoon works for you, IM me tonight and we can make arrangements.

You are correct, thank you!

Just went back and re-read my emails

Entire range complex closed 12/5-12/10

Yep we always shut it down for deer season due to A local club hunting on part of it.

Hey guys There is A General Meeting Dec. 15 at 7PM It will be at the Dorothy Fire Hall on Tuckahoe rd in Dorothy. It would be nice to get more members coming out to the Meetings.

We will reopen the ranges first thing Sunday Morning.

Thanks

I am about to fill out the waiting list application......but how does one go about getting a member to sponsor them if they dont know anyone there ?

I have been a member of SJSC for many years and a member of Brick armory for years before that and sponsorship was not required ?

Thanks Ed....

Yeah I can call Fred T or H and I am positive they would do it in a hertbeat but im not sure if Cumberland will accept a RSO as a reference but you would think that would be fine as they can attest to my safe gun handling and character. I emailed Cumberland to ask but didn't get a response back as of yet. Speaking of Brian, I was supposed to stop up and meet him at the frozen nuts match but I by the time I got done with the 3gun in the back ( which I actually won for the 1st time ) lol and helped clean up he was gone.

If you know NJjoniguy (Brian) You can talk to him as being A reference.  He is A member at Cumberland, If A member sponsors you that's all you need is 1.    Don't send in the $50.00 like it says, Just fill the membership form out and mail it to the address listed.  As of last Thursday nights meeting we have 32 requests for membership.  for the 2017 intake which will be in October. If you have any questions feel free to PM me for info.

Keep in mind all of our club leagues are open to the public,  Along with sanctioned matches. Leagues and matches will start late march early april. and are listed on our website.

    • I use an Alien Gear cloak tuck (IWB) with my Shield.  Neoprene back - in the summer it does feel warm but doesn't rub or chafe.   https://aliengearholsters.com/ruger-lcp-iwb-holster.html Could also go with the shapeshift as it has multiple options - OWB/IWB, Appendix... https://aliengearholsters.com/ruger-lcp-shapeshift-modular-holster-system.html
    • The  12-1 compression ratio L88 is long gone. This is GM's updated version. it might be  pump gas 10-1 engine The L88 was a aluminum head  cast iron block engine with a nasty solid lifter cam. the  ZL1 was a all aluminum  12 or 13-1 compression ratio engine with the best forged internal parts at the time and had a even nastier solid lifter cam
    • I like my regular carry holster.  OWB leather with belt slots.  I've been carrying for over a year and it was comfortable and I hardly even noticed it.  I carry (usually) a Ruger LCP .380 - light, convenient, tiny. But...today I ended up taking it off an leaving it home after a few hours. I cut down a big maple tree a few days ago and I spent 3/4 of today loading and unloading firewood into the back of my truck and a trailer.  It was a warm day, I was dirty, tired, sweaty, and my holster was rubbing against my side.  The leather and exposed metal snap was no longer comfortable. I'm thinking about adding a layer of something to that part of the holster to soften the contact.  Anything insulating will make it worse.  I don't want a sweaty, hotter holster against my skin.  I'm imagining something thin, breathable, that won't absorb sweat, and softer than leather, metal snaps, and rivets.   But I have no idea what would work. I'm hoping somebody else has already figured this out and I can just do what they did. Any suggestions appreciated.
    • Check the primers on the ammo you didn't shoot yet. Are they fully seated? If the primer is not just below flush with the back of the case, the first hit can seat it better then the second hit ignites it.
