sroc112 24 Posted June 2, 2017 If you order a new frame from Glock, will there be any sort of issues since your slide & barrel will have a different serial number than the new frame?

Yes.... they do, however in the eyes of the ATF, here in the United States the Frame is the "firearm" and serialized part that matters. In Europe I believe in most places, it is the slide/barrel that is the serialized "firearm."
sroc112 24 Posted June 2, 2017 Ok, so the number on the slide/barrel does not have to match frame them?

Nope.... the pistol permit needs to be for the frame.... but otherwise, does not matter. Particularly with small frame glocks, you can easily put a different slide/barrel on it. And if you sell the gun later on, a buyer will probably care that it does not match, but legally, no issues.
High Exposure 5,664 Posted June 2, 2017 Maks is right. The only serial number that matters is the one on the frame. On a side note, I just got two stripped Gen 3 Glock frames (a G17/22 and a G19/23) for $75 each from http://www.glockstore.com/ They are sitting at my FFL as I wait for my permits. I love building glocks. Every now and again Suarez has OEM barrels for 19s and 17s for $75. Really good flat trigger for $60. You get to a pretty custom gun for about retail. And you learn sumthin'... people in free states can even whip up an 80%er and feel the full benefits of a free man.

I am looking for a gen 4 19 frame though, they are $100 from Glock.

I see a lot of people are picking up gen3 frames. I wonder with the new front serrated slide and steel sight Glocks (Gen4.5? )..Are the Gen3's finally going away? I know the Gen4's are outselling the 3's something like 9 to 1.
