gfl216 226 Posted October 9, 2017 Is there a NJ legal version of the Mossberg 930 SPX? Also I've heard that the 930 JM Pro models have some reliability issues. Is this true? If it is, is it for all 930's or just the JM Pro?
gfl216 226 Posted October 13, 2017 Danno, thanks for providing the link but I didn't see anything that answered my questions. I am aware of the 6 round magazine limit for semi auto shotguns. let me try to clarify my questions. Dose anyone know of a place that is selling a NJ legal version of the 930 SPX (IE 6 rd mag tube)? Dose anyone have first hand info about the reliability of the 930? I don't know anyone who owns one and have seen good and bad reviews online.
fishnut 2,358 Posted October 13, 2017 There have been several brought to the shotgun shoots over the years some run well some not so much. I shot a few of them and they're not my cup of tea if I want a semi-auto I'll save my money and get a Benelli
Krdshrk 3,877 Posted October 13, 2017 I have a 930 JM Pro. Pretty darn reliable - just gotta keep the gas system clean. Cheap winchester target ammo tends to get stuck in the chamber - the extractor rips the rim right off the cheapass cartridge... Other than that, no issues. If you get a FFL that will transfer the SPX (non-pistol grip model only) and take off the extension tube, you should be ok... not sure who would do that unless you have a relationship already with a FFL. Bring a +2 extension (I recommend Nordic) and pop it on and you're golden.
