Ridiculous Magazine Law Question..

Recommended Posts

So lets say someone in PA ordered 30 round magazines from Florida... and during the transport to PA they pass through NJ.. is the driver technically in violation of the law while going through NJ with those magazines?

Its not really an important question.. more just one of curiosity....

Falls under transport. Legal at origin, legal at destination. Cmon guy! You know this.

plus there’s probably some interstate commerce thing I’m missing also

FedEx drivers are constantly breaking the law when they have deliveries of handguns on their trucks on their way to the FFLs for delivery.
I believe that is different as they are a common carrier. They also transport machine guns through NJ.

Honestly, I have no clue regarding mags.

Common carrier is exempt under interstate commerce.

THIS^^^^

I recall something about common carriers can't be held responsible for what is in the packages unless they were involved in some sort of criminal conspiracy to deliver something illegally. Otherwise a UPS driver could be charged with drug smuggling for unknowingly delivering a package to someone with drugs in it.
