  1. Don't check it out.......It's Junk......... I only say this cause I was considering Dozers, but with limited funds and no permits at the moment I don't think it's gonna happen. They really are good, accurate and fun guns. Good luck with it if your gonna pick Dozers up.
  2. Greetings from Cape May Court House. Check out the Atlantic County Range, look over their rules, restrictions and the times civilians are permitted to use the ranges. Before joining check out the civilian friendly ranges in the area - South Jersey Shooting Club ( www.southjerseyshootingclub.com ), Harborsite USANA, Hutton Hill, Dix and others I'm sure I'm forgetting. If your interested in checking out the SJSC I'll be happy to show you around . IMHO it's worth the extra drive. Welcome to the addiction. Buy what you want, if you compromise and get somethig you don't really like, it will cost you more in the long run.
  3. Per the IDPA Rule Book, available for all to see at www.idpa.com PERMITTED Modifications (Inclusive list): 2. Grips may be changed to another style or material that is similar to factory configuration (no weighted grips; see
  4. I rented one when I was out west once. It is an awesome piece of hardware. I wouldn't mind owning the Barret 416 myself (416 is a necked down 50 with higher speed and better balistics then the 50). But for me it's cost prohitive. The posts above hit the major issues, most ranges don't allow them - usually because of the nose and the destruction they cause to berms. Ammo is pricey. And in South Jersey there is only club with a 600 yard range and that's the longest. The 50 or 416 has effectively eliminated enimies at 1.5 MILES! It seems silly to me to use tha at a measely 600 yards. But, it is an awesome gun. Also: with people tring to ban the 50 , the 416 is a safe alternitive. the 416 was designed after CA's 50 ban.
  5. piece crap mercy I didn't read the article, just played fill-in-the-blanks.
  6. Leatherman wannabe. Screw driver with changabe heads. Allen wrenches. Multiple foam ear plugs. Multiple safety glasses. Zipper top bags. Staple gun. Multiple reloads for staple gun. Spotting scope. Small cleaning kit with lube. Pens. Small note book. Quarters. 2 pair nitrile gloves.
  7. I don't use shooting gloves, driving gloves, riding gloves, or love gloves.
  8. I guess it was only a matter of time till the jersey devil got replaced by a cheaper immigrant.
  9. I take the Shotgun, wife takes the Handgun. We fight our way to our son's room where she holds up and calls 911 - "There are multiple armed men in my house, please hurry!!!" I clear the house. and hopefully don't get shot. We have practiced this drill along with fire drills and discussed evacuation plans in the event of a natural emergency.
  10. Typically speaking you can shoot slugs. Use a wider choke (modified or improved cylinder). Avoid full cylinder or turkey chokes.
  11. I don't see much of a difference between pistol ammo's. I shoot wolf, blazer aluminum, federal, AE and anything else I can find at the lowest prices I can find. For the action shooting I do and even for target shooting I don't see a difference.
  12. I have owned both and sold both for different reasons. Beretta: Excellent design good ergonomics. The design makes stove pipes and double feeds almost impossible - almost. I never had any mechanical problems with the gun and enjoyed shooting it. I got rid of it because I couldn't shoot it accurately. Friends could shoot it accurately, but for reasons unknown to me I couldn't shoot accurately. Glock: another good gun that never had mechanical issues. It is a good combat gun but I didn't like the ergonomics. I have big hands and the minimal beavertail caused the slide to rub my hand, after 30 rounds it began to hurt. No unjacketed lead bullets in Glocks and even though I rarely buy lead bullets, the restriction bothered me (silly I know). I know there are beavertail extensions that can be added but they are costly and the gun wasn't worth it to me, I didn't like the gun enough to invest the money.
  13. I have big hands so I like a big beavertail. It prevents me from getting rubbed or bitten by the slide. This is the reason I ditched the glock.
  14. There are a lot of expensive things we spend money on in our lives. Homes, Cars, appliances, clothing. Of all things I drop large sums of money on my guns and my house are the only things that will last long enough for me to give to my son (1 year old) and my grandchildren (whenever they arrive). I consider gun purchases as investments.
  15. I suggest you buy a couple differnt manufacturers in a couple different bullet weights. Try them out at different ranges and see what your gun shoots best. Most of the time the real difference will show up past 200 yards, so if your only shooting 50 or 100 yards you won't see a lot of difference. I have a Remington 700 long range rifle that I shoot at 300 yards and have aired out to 600 yards. I use standard Federal ammo and I routinely shoot 2" groups at 300 yards. The rifle could do better with match ammo but I'm happy with 2 inches at 300 yards. The best I've done at 600 was to put all the shots on a paper plate sized target. I don't usually shoot that distance so the group size is more about me and less about the gun and ammo. I tried multiple ammo's and weights to find my rifle likes the federals.
  16. It's interesting to see this thread today. I was jusk eyeing one up at my local shop. It looks like it's in very good condition but since I don't have a PP an another 380 cal isn't in my near future I didn't pick it up or study it. I am not sure on the price, so don't quote me on this but I think it was around 400.
  17. The Circut Judge is a nice looking gun. Of you want to use it for hunting I would ask what you are hunting and where you are hunting. There are some assumptions above that you will hunt NJ, that may not be the case. (I have a 30.06 that I hunt with in states where rifle hunting is legal.). The 45LC or the 410 slug could bring down a white tail without a problem. Many other states don't have the round restriction that NJ has. If you blocked 2 chambers for pheasant, quail or foul hunting you may be able to argue the case in court after being ticketed, but I wouldn't want the hassle personally so I wouldn't use it in NJ. Skeet/trap/sporting clays would be fun with that gun. HD with 410 buck shot would work.
  18. I'd open the door for the one on the right. I always thought the zombie apacalypse would start in north Jersey.
  19. The only problem with this is when they fly through the window but don't die. Automobile insurance covers up to a certian point then the costs for the long term care become the burden of the tax payers. A person with a severe and lifelong injury, especially a head injury preventing them from living independNtly, can cost the taxpayers millions over a lifetime. This is one of the reasons seatbelt and helmet laws were enacted. It's about the bottom line not really about the greater good.
  20. Our society tells us it's ok to sit and let hard working people pay your bills. Our unemployment system even rewards people for not working and also punishes people for finding a new job. Hypathetical scenerio: I get laid off as a paramedic today. Tomorrow I file for unemployment and start the job hunt. If my job hunt only gets me a full time job flipping burgers for minimum wage I have gone from a 45,000/year job to a 13,000/year job. Since the burger flipping job is full time I no longer qualify for unemployment so I have a job that pays less then a third of what I was making and have no way of making the difference. If the burger job is part time then I qualify for partial unemployment which will help make up some of the difference. OR: I can stay home, play with my son, swim in the pool and go shooting with the ammo I already own and make more on unemployment then I would at the burger job. I think there are a good number of people who abuse the system, but these are the people who abuse every system and manipulate their circumstances for their own gain. These people have an un deserved and un earned sence of entitlement and there isn't much that will fix that. I think there are a lot of people who are trying to get a job but are faced with circumstances beyond their control and are becoming very frustraited. BUT: Mr. Obama will fix it all and none of us will have to work for a living, there will be free money to all and free healthcare to all. :hope:
  21. Much more then half is silenced. The city does not want negative press and succeeds in keeping 90%+ quiet. I can't tell you how many shootings stabbings and violent crime victims I have treated and I very rarely see reports about them in the media.
  22. This one? http://www.impactguns.com/store/092786729718.html No mine has a standard stock, not a pistol grip. It also has a front sight post, no rear sight. No chokes.
