  1. You must be leaving after me. At 6:30am there is only 80mph traffic, with a slight delay merging onto the bridge in Bayonne right before 14A. 15 minutes earlier, there is no delay at all.
  2. I work at the WTC (well, 200 Liberty Street), and drive to Liberty State Park, then take the Liberty Ferry right to the WFC. Takes 8 or so minutes, costs $5. Parking is $7. Cheapest and nicest commute I've ever had to NYC.
  3. I would be in too, but at this point unless we end up in World War Z I have more AR mags than I'll ever need.... So, I'd probably only take 5...
  4. I've known about these, but not sure what you use them for?
  5. I'm unsure that he shot an innocent black boy in cold blood or defended himself, but does anyone not think he is a racist idiot?
  6. I try to read and discuss topics about firearms in NJ, but people who think Obama is a marxist keep hijacking every thread.
  7. What year did you go to Philmont?
  8. After buying the same rifle there for $2100 in the first crisis in 2009 (before I knew better), I wouldn't give them my money for anything.
  9. This was my backup for gas last year, and it didn't work at all for me. I would have taken the car apart if I hadn't been able to find gas within 2 hours after a few days. Also, need to store some diesel for the truck.
  10. Agreed, I just took our Boy Scouts up there for a nice camping trip and a very nice 7 mile hike. There are many trails, well-marked and on the nice park map. You can probably do a hike from 2 to 20 miles on the park trails.

    UTS-15 light

From another thread I saw that the light/laser combo was finally available, and see that you can get them for $185 on GB. The directions mention that it comes with a drill bit and drill guide; can someone tell me what you have to do? Does the kit come with a new switch? Seems like it does. Thanks, Dave
  12. I've never not stopped on the way home from the range for a restroom, gas or sandwich. So far, no prison time.

    UTS-15

I'm not sure what "broke" means; it broke? I have hundreds of rounds through mine, never a problem.
  14. I might finally go to the Appleseed. With the event in Vernon it's too close. No hotel needed, etc.

    UTS-15

I didn't know you could load the UTS tubes at the same time! I always load mine one tube at a time. That said, I'm not sure you'd really want to try to remember, and then use, different types of ammo in the tubes in any kind of stress situation, but that's the same for both.
  16. I have one for 308 and I love it. The blade it like a "V" and the case edges are nice and smooth inside and out.
  17. But that's a pretty reasonable objection, and you should help them think through it. They are certainly not going to get over this worry by reading newspapers.
  18. I tell everyone I can, because when they see that I own guns, and support gun rights, and am a Life Member of the NRA, all their assumptions about people who like guns being nut jobs are challenged. I'm a pretty average guy, with most viewpoints significantly to the left of most people on this forum. When they hear that average guys aren't crazy to like guns, it shakes their incorrect base assumptions.
  19. It's the difference between a benchrest rifle doing 0.03" groups and 0.04" groups, which will move them from first to last place. On a normal usage rifle, it's not an issue.
  20. Always happy to get a book recommendation. I just ordered this for my kindle.
  21. I'll explain that to the dozen hard hats from the WTC construction site, three NYPD guys, two PAPD guys and a whole bunch of guys with cool NYPD Scuba Team jackets in front of me in line at sbux, every morning.
  22. I wish it didn't have the bright white logo on top; I think you're right that it works great, but it's too "blingy" for me...
  23. Nice, right on the road just before Cherry Ridge. Now we have two great stores (Mastodon) in that area.
  24. Took this one myself on the ferry home from work
  25. A long time ago, in the mid-80's, we knew the government read all emails. Back then, there were few enough emails that people probably actually read them. So, in our academic circles, every single email had a footer than contained random terrorist/bomb/thoughtcrime words. The theory was that every email would ring alarm bells, and pretty soon they'd get tired of reading them all.
