If you go with the 9mm ar idea, know that there are two main designs and the parts don't interchange. Olympic puts the ejector in the upper receiver and uses either modified or custom magazines. What is the current legal status if you submit a NICS check and you don't get a response? Can you claim that you've received a delayed status and start the clock to release a firearm to the purchaser after three days? You forgot 1) Call your air carrier to get procedures specific to them prior to arriving at the airport. Some airlines are antigun (USA3000) and won't allow firearms to be checked at all. Some others add minor restrictions such as type of case it can be in. LUP
