  1. +1 it only costs ~1 buck and it gives it a lot of protection from the wallet.
  2. I get to be Santa to my daughter and her friend as elves. It could be worse, my friend gets to be Buddy the Elf.
  3. "and obtained a consent to search Fry’s 2000 Honda Valkrie motorcycle which was parked on Market Street about 100 feet north of the courthouse, authorities" I don't feel he did anything wrong (yeah I know there is no legal purpose, but M1C are illegal also)up until the point he said yes to a search. I think he may have been "Pressured" into saying yes by the judge ala "No search, you lose".
  4. Working on my car with a friend. Checking manual for torque specs. 9 yr old daughter: "What book is that Daddy? Car repair for Dummies?"
  5. Powder weight looks good. Make sure that your OAL is good. If the bullets are seated deeper you will get more pressure. Lyman 49 says OAL should be 1.275"
  6. 1. Vibratory - Harbor Freight 39 bucks 2. Crushed walnut (lizard bedding ~$5 for 11 Quarts) with a cap of NU Finish and cut up dryer sheet. 3. Most I've run is ~350 .40 S&W 4. 5-6 hours 5. Add NuFinish to Walnut and run for an hour BEFORE adding any brass!!!!! If NOT you will get clumps of walnut and polish inside your brass.
  7. Something is not right here. They used to have a headstamp of *I*. A little looking says people are getting Independence boxed ammo with Federal, Magtech, Speer or Blazer headstamps. I have shot it and it works fine if a little dirty but it makes me wonder when there is so much variation in the brass manufactures.
  8. As for a case you probably will want to ditch the case the gun came in. They are just another thing to carry. Get a bore store gun rug. Midway sell a range bag that is cheap and gets good reviews. Stuff to bring to the range (pistol) Eyes and ears, Gun Ammo targets stapler or tape Small tools (pliers, small screwdriver set etc) First aid kit (hope you won't need it but if you do) Pen/Markers
  9. https://www.budsgunshop.com $587.00 shipped I have dealt with them in the past with no issues, take ~ a week to get it to your FFL
  10. Like Shane and Maks said way too much liability. I agree you'd be better off either saving the brass and start reloading yourself, or sell it (marketplace forum) and use the procedes to buy some factory ammo. There are some good deals to be found on the internet if you search. Look it the hot deals forum there is usually a post or two about good deals on ammo.
  11. This is my personal opinion not a bash. I rented the CZ 75B at Shore Shot and the trigger slap discouraged me from purchasing one. I don't know if this is a systematic problem or just a worn range gun but firing 50 rounds was not fun.
  12. Impact gun also has them for $969.99. Did something happen that caused a $400 drop in price?
  13. Its good to have friends I have a 92fs and like it alot. I have heard (take that for whats it worth) that there were problems with the 96. The 96 is basically a 92 modified to except .40. The extra recoil was doing a job on the frames and slides. Just my 2 cents but a .40 is not "snappier" than any other round. This is from my expirience firing from a Sig 229 and 226. Recoil is no different that the 92. When you move to a substantially lighter gun I could see how the recoil might be an issue but for a metal gun I don't see any problems.
  14. That is the scary part. The purpose of a gun is to equalize the playing field. For example 5 foot 90lb 78 year old grandmother shoots unarmed 6'6" 280lb thug breaking into her house. I pretty sure no sane person would argue that she was in no danger because he was unarmed.
  15. Maks make some good points but this is NJ so everything is open to judgement. If you value your fathers guns, I would get in touch with a lawyer who deals with firearms. For a couple of hundred bucks he should be able to walk you and your fathers wife, through the process legally.
  16. And definitely not for the walletly challenged.
  17. I'd be interested in .40 165gr.CMJ and .357 158gr. JHP YELLOW Let me know the details
  18. Well it sounds like you've had some experience firing handguns, so I'll skip the get a .22 line. I would highly recommend going down to Shoreshot and rent a bunch. Find the one that fits you best, and that YOU feel you can operate correctly when you're half asleep and need it immediately.
  19. Damn thats a lotta logs. Hows your back?
