    GSG 5 fans?

I hava had the original for several years. The screw upgrade is a must, and you need loctite (blue) for the screws. I run a 4x illuminated scopr from RRages and a green laser with pressure switch. Mine likes CCI mini-mags. What was difference with the stock? I am interested.
  3. There's some at Cabela's and if you need it soon, L and H in Wall has one
  4. Bill did my Ar, a beretta, a 1911, my GSG5 so I do enjoy his work. If you want a good 3lb trigger for $49- go with Bill. If you want an excellent 2+lb trigger, then go with the Geissele.
  5. If you can afford the Lasik, I highly recommend it. The technology has improved over the years and your vision can be returned. I invested in it before this years Leopard hunt and it paid for itself, no more glasses trying to see 3-400 yds away. I even picked up a critter or two the trackers missed ( they are still way better). If you plan on buying a variable scope in the near future, bet one with a parallax or focus knob- that can also help. Best of luck

  7. We always give the gift of the second amendment at Christmas. This year is another pellet gun. Lasst year the wife got a Franchi 28ga.
  8. and you should see the black Friday deals at Cabela's. If you are a PA resident, there are some good finds on .22's and .17's as well as muzzleloaders.
  9. I use 3031 and 748 but prefer the 748 as it meters nicely. Mostly 50 gr. V Max loads.
  10. What others said is accurate. It is fun to shoot, but it needs mods to run right. You need the screw upgrade from RRages.com and they must be loctited as well as the bolt stop. You need a #9 torx screwdriver to remove the factory bolt carrier screws ( get one from Radio Shack, buy it and then return it- they cost like 19 bucks). It is fun to shoot and you will blow through many rounds rather cheaply. Lots of fun and you can spend more on modifications than the gun. Look at the GSG thread on AR15.com, under Armory then GSG5- enjoy
  11. you'll love it, it is inherently accurate. I dropped off my permit app last night for a new 1911 and it was done by 8am,so I'm off to spend some cash
  12. Let's see... Trading in my beretta 90-two for a Kimber Custom II with a .22 cal conversion kit. Say no more

  15. penetration power--- Ok- I'm too cheap to get a $70 .22 trap for the basement. I can build one cheaper right? Off to Home depot for 2 sheets of High density fiberboard ($29) , get some screws (why but 50 when you can get 100 ($5.00)). add some sheet metal flashing to deflect bullets ($12), and some cheap foam insulation- just in case ($11). put it all together and shoot the RWS air rifle just to make sure nothing will penetrate- wrong. Grand total so far-$57. Back to the depot for a roll of compressed blow in insulation to put inside backstop- $12. try the .22 with 5 shots. Through the insulation, through the backstop, into the cinder block wall, complete with nice holes. Back to the depot to return the insulation package with 5 holes- good group- but a suspicious look from the return clerk. Better idea- use a few buckets of spackle to stop the bullets- 2 buckets at $12. works good for the first 10 shots, then the grouping is so tight the next shots go through to the cinder block foundation for another 10 holes. Can't return this bucket of leaking mess to the depot Off to the Garden center for a large plastic bucket ($9) and some crushed granite, sand (4 bags at $4) . now I'm in for more than a new really nice trap would cost. Hump a few hundred pounds of crushed rock into the basement, fill the bucket, try to get it into position and it actually works. Another good group and the bucket starts to tear, pouring sand into the basement. The moral? I was really shocked at the power of a .22lr, both with light rounds and CCI minimags. They really penetrated. Now I get to spend 70 bucks for a real trap.

    Beretta 90-two

I've got one. The .40 is not more accurate than the older 9mm, it is lighter and obviously kicks more. Very stiff trigger. I had a trigger job done last year, it is better, but not as crisp or light as perhaps a quality custom 1911. I go to Dix and Brick Armory, you are welcome to try it anytime.
  20. I have it. very accurate . 1/9 twist or slower is preferable for varmint loads, typically less than 55 gr. bullet. Remember- the faster the twist, the heavier the bullet. You will find good accuracy with 40-50 gr accutips, V-max or the like. It is a heavy gun. Get a Bill Springfiels trigger job on it and you will love it.

    Who has a 22-250?

I passed one up at Griffin and Howe a year ago. I should have grabbed it, if noting else than the glass. It was a Ruger m77 in very good but well used condition with a Leupold 3-12?(or something like that) for $600. It was the best deal at the store (and the only one I could afford). Regrets.

    beretta 92FS

I bought a 90-two and am relatively pleased with it. I had the trigger done to smooth out the first stage and it shoots a little smoother. There is a noticeable kick with the 40 vs. the 9mm and the polymer frame. More felt recoil than a Sig or even a glock which weigh less. Overall I am satisfied but I can't hit the target as well with it as the Sig or Glock. Incidentally, I purchased it primarily for the external hammer and de-cocker as it is a very safe gun without feed jams.
  24. The same statistics for hunting vs. anti hunting are also applicable here: 10% of americans support it; 10 % against and the remainders are the ones who can be pursuaded. Last year I took 4 non gun owners to the range for a "guys night" after which we ate and drank. ALL had a good time. One just put in his paperwork; another will do so in the next month or so and convinced his brother to get an ID card. The others can't wait to go again. Some of the best satisfaction comes when they go to Dix and try to hit a small water bottle at 150 yds.
