  1. Or from sitting in front of computers wasting time on forums................oh, wait, nevermind...............
  2. Has to be.......a year of someone walking through someone else's house without anyone noticing? And, as others have said, they didn't change the locks? or didn't ever lock the doors? I'm not buying it, just another internet schlub trying to get a good story over on everyone.
  3. OP - before you put to much faith in what you were told by the NJSP FIU, I would suggest calling them again and asking them the exact same questions..............what you will figure out is that you will get different answers every time you call, sometimes the answer will be a complete opposite answer from what you were told before - I know this from personal experience. The references by others here, that you should get what the NJSP told you in writing was more rhetorical in nature than anything..........you'll never get it.
  4. I was there when that happened as well, but fortunately I was in the opposite corner of the main room when it happened. From where I was, it wasn't clear what the noise was, I guess all the people in between and the fact the round went into the floor muffled the sound some along the the echo off the metal roof made it sound more like a metal cabinet fell over or something. The room got really quiet for a minute or so with people looking around asking what was that? Then everyone seemed to keep on shopping. It wasn't until later when I talked to a vendor that was near where the ND happened that I found out what it was. He said himself and a lot of other around him were checking themselves to make sure they weren't hit. Huge relief no one got hit.
  5. I've counted the 200 round HXP .30-06 loose containers from CMP, always had at least a few extra.
  6. "to meet some friends", or just the name of the town your headed to (that happens to also have a range) or anything else that is a basic answer.
  7. Or, you can just use common sense when traveling back and forth by not volunteering what's in your vehicle if you get stopped, not answering questions like "where are you headed? or where are you coming from?" at all, or in a way that boxes you into a particular destination. Who's to say you are not always headed to a range in PA on your way out of NJ or coming from the same on your way into NJ. If you are really worried about this, just keep some HP ammo and spare mags at your NJ residence and some more at your PA residence, and don't transport the HP ammo back and forth.
  8. You'd be amazed at what a deer can survive......although I will say that photo does look suspicious as to it's authenticity.
  9. As others have said, contact your mayor and ask him to straighten this out. There is no reason you should need an appointment to hand in paperwork, the towns I have lived in would have an civilian employee accept the application anytime during normal business hours.
  10. I went to sight in a shotgun at Cherry Ridge one time right before deer season, drove the 35 minutes to get there and realized I left my shotgun at home. I had been in a hurry because I didn't have a lot of time to sight it in in the first place. That was a complete waste of a trip.
  11. I'm glad this worked out for you, but the reality for most working people in NJ is that they would need to take a serious pay cut to make the move to PA. I know with my business I would be lucky to make 25% of what I make in NJ, the demographic just isn't there in PA.
  12. A homeless person being able to keep a firearm with them without a carry permit is never going to happen in NJ for two reasons: First, It's still a public space whether or not someone lists a park bench as an address or not. The homeless person does not own the bench nor have exclusive right to control it. The exemption in the law regarding carrying states: "about his residence, premises or other land owned or possessed by him", a homeless person would have none of these. Second, If this would be ruled to be legal, what would stop any of us from claiming that the same park bench or a public street or every public place is our second or third or forth etc. address, and therefore we would be allowed to carry everywhere? What would stop any of us from claiming a park bench in PA as an address and then being able to buy full auto since we would then be a PA resident?

I think he saying after buying a built one and needing to play around with it so much, he wouldn't recommend trying to build one.
  14. Not in North Jersey, but Gene Salomons in Farmingdale, NJ has Goex, and cheaper than Dixons from what I've heard. Probably the same distance as well depending on where you are.
  15. I don't think changing the barrel will increase the value......... most people don't want bubba-ed guns. I'm not exactly sure how the Czech's modified vz52's to 7.62x39, new barrel? or a chamber adapter? (that have been know to have issues).
  16. Does anyone have a reference for a doctor to give a psych evaluation letter? Someone I know (and no, it's not me) needs a letter that states they are OK to own firearms because of an (overblown) issue from when they were a child. We all know that most of the people that work in this sector are not pro gun, so if anyone knows a doctor that is pro gun, who would do a letter, it would help this guy greatly. Thanks PM me if you prefer.
  17. It's a vz 52, which stands for "vzor" which is Czech for "model" CZ is the manufacturer. These are also sometimes call the "she" rifle. But to answer you initial question, they are interesting as a collector piece, but you'll need to scrounge for ammo, as only surplus is available. The ammo was made in both lacquered steel case and brass, both Berdan primed, so reloading is not simple. I find the lacquered steel case ammo sometimes gets sticky when the gun heats up and can cause feeding issues, but this would not be unique only to this rifle. There are chamber inserts to allow shooting 7.62 x 39 ammo, but I've heard they can be problematic.
  18. Soooo, you moved all your "junk" to Arizona and now your selling it off after you get there?
  19. Did you try Gun Broker? Go to completed auctions.........
