  1. In West Orange, I've been sleeping in 2 hour shifts since 8 PM thinking id wake up and shovel every couple hours. But I haven't needed to shovel since I shoveled about 2 inches around 5 PM. It looks like there's another couple inches on the ground for the morning, and I guess it'll continue to snow into the day tomorrow, but overall, about a foot less than what we were expecting in Essex county.
  2. I love my Schrade SCHF 9. It's widely known as an awesome knife "for the money."
  3. Couldn't tell you about change of address, but my FID took 4 months and my P2P's take 3 months, give or take. I wouldn't expect a change of address to go any faster. Politely check up on it once in a while after a few weeks. My FID was signed and ready after about 90 days, but they never told me. It took me calling to find out. Detective Lopez can be hard to get a hold of.
  4. I know it's well outside of how far you said you're willing to drive, but my parents are in Gatlinburg, TN this week celebrating their 30th anniversary and say it's fantastic. Minutes from Great Smoky National Park. They got a very sizable cabin for like $200/night through VRBO.com.
  5. Correct, I apologize. However, I believe if you put in www.flights.google.com, it redirects you to the correct site. At least it does for me. No matter either way, point is it's an innovative engine.
  6. www.flights.google.com will show you the price of every airline and every option as far as time of departure once you put in your dates. They also give you bar graphs of how prices fluctuate over time on specific dates. So if you're flexible, it allows you to see that leaving on Tuesday is $100 less than leaving on Wednesday. (Just an example). Once you've found the cheapest option, you can then click to book directly through the website of the airline you've chosen. You can also filter by airline preference, nonstop, time of day, etc. Really an excellent tool, I use it all the time. Even though I'm always willing to spend a bit more if it means flying out of Newark on United Airlines. I try my best to stay loyal, and the benefits of the United MileagePlus Explorer credit card obviously encourage flying United, and booking directly through them.
  7. + A lot. Lol. Nicely done.
  8. Glenmorangie, The Original. Delicious.
  9. Working on my iPhone as we speak. The mobile version.
  10. When you get severe weather, the airport becomes a cluster****. Between people who are booked on flights that are delayed/cancelled, and people who are trying to get on standby, you get a huge number of people stranded, so the volume of people inside the airport is much higher than normal, because you have a few days worth of passengers inside the airport at once.
  11. If by "mop the floor," you mean went to two Game 7's and a Game 6 against a 3rd string goalie, then yes, they've blown away the competition. As a huge Devils fan, it's tough to see the rangers playing for the Cup. But it's good to see hockey taking the front seat in the NY area for once. That said, to think the Rangers have been dominant in any sense on this postseason run is comical.
  12. Ketchup 100% of the time. Mustard on top of that ketchup 90% of the time.
  13. Ruger SR9. Runs around $500, I believe, depending where you shop. Can't remember exactly what I got mine for, but it was in that neighborhood.
  14. As a big fan of BBQ'ing/smoking, very cool thread. Don't wanna hijack, but since it's a related matter, anyone ever make their own charcoal? I'd never given it a thought, but after reading some articles, I guess all you really need is a 55 gallon drum, something to keep the wood in without letting air get in, and a fire. It's also cheaper than buying it, I suppose, but that's not really my main motivation. Just seems like something cool to try.

    Brodeur.

Schneider is the number 1 goalie for this franchise going forward. If he wasn't, Lamoriello wouldn't have traded the 9th overall pick in the draft for him (which was a major steal, by the way). If you want him to stay, you have to extend him this summer and give him he bulk of the work. He's better than Marty at this point in their careers, and playing time should reflect that.

    Brodeur.

Vanek goes to MTL for a 2nd round pick and a prospect. Remember that the Isles gave up Moulson, a 1st, and a 2nd to get him. Not exactly equal value. Garth Snow has to be feeling it after today. Re: Brodeur, my stance all along has been the same. Don't trade him. There was no market for him. You wanna do right by him after all he's done for the NJD, but you can't just give him away for nothing. If Marty wants to take a 50% pay cut and be my backup next year and play 25 games, I'll welcome him with open arms. But that's not happening. He still wants to play. He'll sign with another team in July. He won't retire. Regarding the Devils acquiring Ruutu - I don't mind him as a player, and I don't really care that we gave up Loktionov and a pick, but I'm concerned over the fact that Ruutu has TWO years left on his deal. Looks like we'll have to get used to him in a Devil uniform.
  17. Schneider is actually a free agent at the end of NEXT year. So he has one more year after this one. But if I'm Lou, I extend him as soon as I'm allowed, which is July 1st of this year. Give him 6 or 7 years at $6 million per year and call it a day. I know you can never count on anything, but this is his first shot to be a clear number one goalie in his career. Hopefully he takes it and runs.
  18. As a huge Devils fan, I still had a blast. I know it was a Devils home game, but I was still expecting there to be more than 50% Ranger fans. I was very pleased with the amount of red in the stands. From what I could tell, it looked to be about 60-65% NJD fans. I sat in 207 in the right field corner and my view was good. There were a couple of blind spots from my vantage point, especially in the corner that was basically at the shortstop position. But overall it was about as good as I could ask for. It was really fun to be a part of. Hopefully now this marks the true beginning of the Schneider era in NJ. I love Marty more than anyone, but it's time to give Cory the reigns.
  19. Texas Pete's for me. It's not all that hot, but I love the flavor.
  20. Might just be a personality thing. My old man is like that. Granted, he doesn't mow or rake 5 times a week, but when he does something, he does it 150%. And if it's not yard work, it's another project. He's just a person who can't sit still. Always has to be active and doing SOMETHING. Sometimes that means cutting down tree branches for no reason at all. I don't get it, but I get why he does the useless/pointless things he does. In fact, sometimes I'm jealous that I don't have that quality. Unlike him, I have no problem spending an entire afternoon in front of the TV.
  21. Two weeks ago, I spent a week working in Harpers Ferry, 5 miles from Charlestown and about 15 miles from Martinsburg. Nice area. Rural enough, beautiful Shenandoah Valley scenery, and Charlestown has anything you need. What's also nice is that while it's technically in West Virginia, you're actually basically (geographically) in Maryland, and not far at all from Pennsylvania. So by no means are you in the middle of nowhere.
  22. Xbox - NJDevs08 Would maybe help if we list what games we play the most so we know who to friend/invite/play etc. Mostly NHL14 for me.
  23. Appreciate the input, but I've tried taking it apart before, and it didn't go well. That whole business with the shell latch and bolt carrier really messed me up. It might be simple, but not for me. It's embarrassing, yeah, but I don't feel like getting frustrated and not being able to get it back together again. I do check the O-ring every time I clean it. I'll check it again, though. I guess I could just do a thorough cleaning as I can and shoot it again and see what happens.
  24. Not sure if there's already a thread on this. Don't think so, but please redirect me if I'm wrong. I want my Remington 1100 cleaned. I bought it about 3 years ago and have put a fair number of rounds through it. Nothing insane, but probably a few thousand by now. Every time I shoot it, i do a simple cleaning. Take the barrel off and clean/oil any parts that I can reach. But I've never done a full strip/cleaning. The gun had performed flawlessly until the last time I went clay shooting. A couple times I had FTE's where the spent shell would get caught up in the receiver as the bolt was closing, and my feeling is that this may be caused by dirty internals. Even if that's not the issue, it should be cleaned anyway. I don't have the time to do it myself, and I'm nowhere near mechanically inclined enough to take the whole thing apart and deal with a complicated gas system on my own anyway, so... do you guys get your guns (particularly shotguns) cleaned, and where do you go to have it done? Also, what should I expect to pay for a full disassembly, cleaning, and reassembly? Any insights/experiences you guys have would be appreciated. For what it's worth, im in 07052, Essex County, but willing to travel an hour or so if it's necessary.
