  1. I have a g34 g3 and a G35 g4. I want to get the G3 grip reduced and stippled. The question I have can I then use the G35 g4 upper on the G3 lower and visa versa - use the Gen3 upper on the Gen 4 lower. I am trying to avoid doing any changes to the gen 4 lower until I have shot it for awhile. I want to use the g35 in limited but i also want to be able to use the g34 still in production so that would mean using the g4 lower from the 35 on the 34 upper in prod. I also have read that some of the Zev triggers will no work like the Gen3 parts as the Gen 3 9mm and 40SW lower parts were the same, I don't think so with the Gen4. I should of just got a Gen 3 35 and I wouldn't have these issues. I hope whoever reads this can understand what I am saying as the more I research this the more confused I get. Any help would be appreciated!!
  2. I have a Nikon m223 1x4 20mm and though not what your are talking about I like the scope and I got the Nikon mount thrown into the deal, I wasn't sure about the mount and was going to go with the PEPR but I have been happy with the Nikon mount so if you can find that you may want to save the extra money on the mount and at least try it. I don't have that much optics experience but I hit what I am aiming at so far out to 200yds. I think the Nik0n m223 line is pretty good for the price point. I did shoot through the MTAC Burris 1x4 24mm and the only thing I really liked better was the reticle and illumination. I would like to have a different reticle in my scope but not knowing all that much about scopes I will look a lot harder for my next purchase.
  3. I was a bit skeptical about using the AR for home defense, but this article kinda changes that. It would be nice to have an SBR to use in the house but we all know that won't happen in this state. This test is scientific as per the writer but it does seem pretty good to me. I had my 9mm AR setup for home defense but I think the 223/556 may be better way to go. I would like to see a comparison with buck and bird shot also. http://www.outdoorhub.com/stories/ar-15-appropriate-home-defense-part-one-penetration-issues/
  4. CTD not only was selling for astronomical prices they also suspended all gun sales. So they bent over for the gun grabbers and then bent the gun buyers over. I will not buy from them, but I do understand that some people don't care and will buy from them, that's why CTD does what they want they know some people will come back and buy from them and then next time something happens they will bend their buyers over and say take it again!!!! Its does seem that CTD did get the worst of it as Dick's and Walmart did the same things.... I just think you can find ammo deals all over now so why give any of them the business!!
  5. I was doing so reading on a new site I found and came across this little piece. I know there have been a few people who have done the mod to use AR mags in their AK this is another option. They seem to work as per the article. I don't know how much the other mod is, but this is retailing for $100 and is out now. http://www.all4shooters.com/en/articles/technics/2013/TexasAk-Designs-STANAG-magazine-adaptor-223-5.56mm-AK-rifles/

    How do you pick?

Pick a reputable dealer then choose a lower. There are billet and forged. if you want to spend more get a billet lower from Mega they are the cadillac of lowers. If you want a standard forged lower that will be a good platform to start get a Spikes. The choice is yours they all pretty much do the same thing. If you buy from Ty you will be good to go!!!! http://midwestpx.com/index.php?cPath=92
  7. Dawson has them I think I googled it real fast and it came up with the link below. So check it out! http://www.dawsonprecision.com/ProductDetail.jsp?LISTID=80001550-1338913901
  8. I shoot lefty and the only thing that I do to all of my AR's is an ambi CH and a B.A.D safety/selector. That being said I am looking to do a side charger in an ambi config. I think that Mega make some great stuff so if you go with the ambi stuff they are a great choice also look at Seekins Precision they have an ambi lower in billet that is sweet!! http://www.seekinsprecision.com/ar-lowers/complete-lower-226.html The thing about ambi to me is you still have the ability to run it as a standard AR so I say do what you like and learn it! My left eye is dominant so I shoot lefty, I had no idea why until I started reading about eye dominance. I can shoot righty also but when I put a gun up for the first time when I was a kid it just went to the left side naturally. So I practiced on both sides and I can do either side just as well.
  9. I got one and some other stuff I didn't really need but what the hell!! Thanks for the LINK!!!
  10. Side chargers have been around for a long time. I shoot lefty and have been thinking about doing one since my first AR build. The link below shows the upper with BCG. The problem is that they have been out of stock way before all the craziness started or they get them in a few at a time and sell out fast so somebody uses them! I will probably do one for my next build a while down the road.... http://www.joeboboutfitters.com/LAR_Grizzly_223_OPSPS_4_Side_Charge_Upper_Receiver_p/lar-223-ops-4-stripped.htm
  11. I give you credit 2Alpha as I never thought of doing this and everyone else in my squad shot from the bridge. Your way made it a lot easier and if you would of shot before me I would of shot it the same way you did!! I always have a problem with breaking down the stages and then when I think I got it right when I shoot my plan goes out the window. This is one of my biggest problems with shooting my planning is terrible and when the timer goes off it all goes out the window. I hope that comes with experience as I haven't been shooting all that long. I do most times follow my plan as bad as it usually is!!
  12. I bought one and I have emailed the guy who is organizing this. He seems to be a good guy and is on the ball with getting this organized. He sent me pics of the slings and made sure I still wanted the colors I ordered. I changed them after seeing how it would come out. The sling comes with Grovtec hardware which are very nice swivels. I will try to post the pics as soon as I have access to the place I put my pics, I cannot remember what web service I used for my pics!!! I put the pics in but they seem different as the pics didn't come in just the link to them.
  13. I don't think that the designer intended the stage to be shot that way. I guess on the other hand you can shoot it anyway you want as long as the stage description doesn't say no.
  14. In this months magazines from the NRA there are lists of each candidate in each district for NJ. So all members will be able to see who is the PRO-2A candidate.
  15. I have run many rounds through my Glock's that have very light springs and I have never had a problem with this ammo.
  16. Jack can you try to find an SP-01 with safety? I can find the tactical but not the safety model.
  17. I figured it needed to be done so I replaced it and yes the STI Spartan is a 1911 9mm. Since I did some work on it the pistol has been great. It makes for a great gun for steel. Since I got it working so good I have even thought about selling my CZ75 which I said I would never sell, I probably won't but It crossed my mind. I would now love to have an STI Edge or Executive but the aren't cheap
  18. I recently bought a new recoil spring for my Spartan 9mm and it came with a new firing pin spring. There was no mention of why but it did say to replace it when replacing the recoil spring. I figured they knew better than me so I did it. The spartan ran great with the new recoil spring 9#'s but I don't know what the firing pin spring did...
  19. My son is at 6 months in Jackson!!! So friggin ridiculous!!!
  20. I recently did a transfer with Pinelands Sporting goods in Jackson and his prices have gone up. The total for transfer is $65. I will no longer be using him!!! He has always been $50.
  21. I have been using Fireclean for a few months now and all that is needed for internals is a quick wipe and it's clean. I shot 400 rounds thru my AR and I couldn't believe how easy it was to clean the bolt after. ijust wiped it and oiled it and the bolt was like new. I have tried all mentioned above in this thread and I will now stick to Fireclean for all my guns. I was using Froglube but IMO Fireclean out performs it and all other I have come acrossed so far!!!
  22. I don't think so. I am used to shooting a standard scope so I think when I use the RDS I am still closing one eye. I will be shooting OBRAMS tomorrow so I will put the Vortex on the 15-22 and see how it works. I will make an effort to remember to keep both eyes open.
  23. Vlad have you ever used a Vortex SPARC? I have one on an AR, the thing that I don't like is the field of view is so small. I still like to shoot with my 1x4 scope or iron sights. The thing that I am trying to have with an RDS/reflex optic is as big a field or view as possible. I don't know which one will give me what I want. I think the Aimpoint mini's are the same size as the SPARC. I may need to just get away from the mini version of RDS and get something bigger. I will take my time and find exactly what I want .
