When I did my last NICS check a couple of weeks ago it took 4 1/2 days. The FFL mentioned that it's a mess and at times has had to send it in more than once for some people because the State Police lost the fax. Ask your FFL if everyone else he's put though is waiting that long too or just you. If you're the only one then ask him to re-fax it.

Maybe Magpul will make those 15 rounders if/when they move out of the state. I truly hope we stay at 15 and wasn't there another state at 15 too? Maybe Maryland or am I way off?

and the 1 shooting he talks about was a Correction's Officer that committed suicide. That doesn't fit the model of a murderous gun-crime so it's effectively at ZERO shootings when it comes to legally owned guns in Newark the whole time he's been mayor. I know Lautenmummy was in the hospital recently. What if he couldn't keep his office due to illness before the next election? The Gov would get to select his replacement until Nov 2014. That would help keep the seat because incumbents usually are hard to beat. (I know I'm wishing on a star but it could happen, hopefully...)

Lever action rifles are fine for lefty's. Bolt Action not really unless it's a lefty model. There's some great advice being given here and joining the NJ2AS is right at the top, it's worth the $35 for all that's being done to help with our 2A rights. I'm starting to build my own AR as well. I'm going to complete the lower first, then move onto the other parts.

It shouldn't be taking this long because the daily # of checks is at the level it was Pre-Newton. The state is doing this on purpose and stll only taking NICS via fax so they can keep stalling.

Wow we started almost the same way. I started at a Valet Co and moved up to GM, then moved on into Graphic Art/Prepress and onto Printing where I'm at now. I hear you about getting bored, but right now, job security is where it's at. My brother got laid-off at the end of Jan for the 1st time in his life at 43 yrs old. Good thing he's in his last semester of getting his MBA and that will hopefully help him get a new job. I would also say at least get the Associates Degree to differentiate yourself from those that don't have any College Degree. You can always add to that later if you want. Lastly, if you're thinking of leaving, have a solid plan, then go for it. Not just a feeling of what you may like to do. ^EXACTLY^ I have NO PROBLEM with the sequester because we can't afford to keep piling onto the debt and spend more than we're taking in. More than we already are at least.

Just put in this afternoon. The wait is on. The state is dragging it's ass, especially now that they won't accept the NICS as a call, just fax. The # per day is back to pre-December levels so the wait shouldn't be like this anymore.
