  1. So I'm going to be moving into a new house soon and I'm thinking of how I can setup my office. That room for the office is plenty big so I want it to double as my "gun" room so I'm looking for ideas on what to get for a workbench. Since this room is going to be off the main living room visible by visitors and potential customers and not in a basement or garage, I want the workbench to look somewhat decent but still be functional. I work in IT so that room is going to be setup with monitors in different locations, I'll probably put up a TV on the wall, there will be boxes of routers, switches and other networking equipment I have to configure so it'll probably look more like a "tech" room. I currently have a black Stack-on gun cabinet so I was looking for something that could match that finish. I currently have a Kobalt 45" workbench which I use in the garage which works really well for my needs and was thinking of picking up another one to keep in the office/gun room. I'm not reloading now and honestly not planning on it, but I do like to have plenty of space to take things apart and want it to be stable and strong. What do you suggest?
  2. White SUV riding the white line probably picked it up, got jostled in its undercarriage and sent it your way. Sucks man.
  3. Call Henry, have them look at it. My H001's sights were dead on at 25yds right out of the box. Something is off. From what I've read, their support is great. They'll most likely as you to send it in. ETA - Did you have someone else shoot it to see if they had the same results?
  4. Do some more research. You do NOT want to move to NJ.
  5. Yeah I am, Palm Coast area, about 3+ hours north of Jupiter. Worth the drive for some home made run and gun setup fun!
  6. Told myself this conversion will be one of the first things I do once I leave NJ... and here she is...
  7. 96 hours? More like the next month or so. There will be documentaries and movies made. I bet they even end up calling him a hero!
  8. I would return that bad boy. Is it really worth the risk?
  9. I've used the 1st gen Compute Sticks for trade shows where we had to run PPT slides, picture slide shows or repeating videos, etc. on large screen TV's instead of connecting full blown laptops to them. They work, but as others have said, they lack in processing power. You can expand the storage via micro SD card which is nice. I'm running one on one of my TVs now and it runs well because I know what to expect from it. If updates need to be installed, run them until it's done, if AV defs need to be updated, run that before you start trying to multi-task. A couple things at a time, that sort of thing. In the past I've used it to RDP to a work machine via VPN and haven't had any issues. I've also run Outlook on it while opening office documents through Sharepoint, etc and although somewhat slow, it's worked for me. I've placed an order for the next gen compute stick (Core M3, 4GB RAM, 64GB storage) which should run a LOT better. I might have an extra Compute Stick laying around if you're looking for one. For keyboards I've used the Logitech K400 and am now using the K830 which I'm loving.
  10. Of course these become available the last week I'm here before I move to Florida...
  11. Air gun huh. Is your basement out in the open where neighbors can easily see you through windows? Will the air gun make a loud BANG when fired like if you were shooting a .22 using quiet ammunition? If you fire off a round, is it loud enough that a neighbor or someone will hear you from the street?
  12. Missed you guys at Clinton by a little bit, but ended up staying at EFGA for a few hours and the range was practically empty. Going back to EFGA this Sunday (Easter) to sight in a new scope.
  13. Yeah I can do that, didn't see the thread until now. I'll swing by before EFGA I'll bring some clays too. What time are you guys going to be there until?
  14. I'm going to be heading to EFGA tomorrow afternoon and should be there between 1 and 2pm. Probably going to be the last time I head out there before moving down south. Haven't been to the range on a while so I'll probably be bringing a lot of my toys and will be staying there until at least 4-5pm.
  15. Only change one variable at a time. I would try a different mag first, then different ammo, especially if that's the only type of ammo that you've fed it. In all honesty, I would send it back to SA to have them continue to work the issue.
  16. Here's 13" Troy Aplha rail on a 14.5 pinned to 16. And a 11" Troy Bravo rail on a 14.5 pinned to 16
  17. Yes, the M&P15-OR model has the railed gas block so there isn't trimming that guy. If you're really aiming for precision, you're not going to get it mounting the bipod to the handguard unless it's free floated. Read up on barrel harmonics and barrel flex/whip. If you want to do it right, replace the railed gas block with a low profile gas block and get yourself a true free float handguard. Good thing is that since the OR model is not threaded, you don't have to deal with a pinned muzzle device. You can probably do this all yourself if you get a FF handguard that uses the standard barrel nut.
  18. Grrr... if only that EoTech refund money would make its way to me....
  19. RTSP in my option is one of the better ranges I've visited in NJ rivaled mainly by Woodland Park Range in northern NJ. A little expensive, picky on the ammo that you can use but everything is new and state of the art. I'll choose to drive 1 hour to shoot outdoors 100% of the time however but that's just my preference.
  20. Isn't an 80% lower just a big chunk of metal since it's not a complete firearm? As long as you don't finish it in NJ you should be just fine.
  21. Anyone going to Old Bridge for knockdown steel this Sat?
  22. Looking at the Palm Coast area. Spent the past 3x weeks down there with the family and loved it. Anyone have any tips on where I can go to read up on their gun laws? I know it's pretty much "whatever you couldn't have in Jersey, you can have in FL". Are there any Good FL gun forums? Lol
  23. Things happened pretty quickly over the past few weeks. I'm actually going to b leaving to FL as soon as my house sells. Maybe even before that. Wife and baby already down there, just have to tie up lose ends and get down there. Now I have to decide if I want to un-neuter my rifles, sell them or just keep them...
  24. Anyone have eyes on where I can find this unit and mount in stock?
  25. So you're saying that the AR is functioning just fine, but the direction in which the brass is ejected is not what others consider "normal" so you want to make changes so that the brass piles up over here instead of over there? If it bothers you that much, get a Spikes T2 buffer. Personally, I would fix something that ain't broken.
