  1. "Easiest" way I was thinking was a steel receiver, steel USGI mag and weld the 2 together, then refinish to make it look less like crap. lol My bigger question was how to legally make a rifle receiver into a pistol receiver.... is it as simple as buying a receiver and bringing a P2P, and having the FFL write the serial but put that it's a pistol?
  2. So I'm seeing all these AR receivers marketed for Cali's new BS gun control nonsense where you permanently attach the magazine and have to pop the rear takedown pin, hinge it open, and reload it from the top. My question is, if someone used one of these mods to do this to an AR pistol, would they be allowed to be over 50 oz, and have handguards, threaded barrel and sig brace? To be considered "evil features" it needs to be semi-auto AND have a detachable mag, right?
  3. I have a cerakoated handgun (not FDE tho, Typhoon Kryptek) that I carry almost daily for the past 2 years. I currently switch back and forth between an Alien Gear IWB and Crossbreed IWB depending on my mood. No wear on the gun that I've noticed whatsoever.
  4. To beat a dead horse.... What's the legality of him transporting a handgun up to the site? My father-in-law owns a business and works it every day. Legally, he can carry in his place of business because he owns it. However, doesn't the law state it can only transport to/from certain locations?
  5. What smith is it? Did you ask them why they require it?
  6. ^This. Because that's exactly how anti-gunners fight/think. What one criminal does with a gun also defines all of us law abiding citizens in their eyes.
  7. 3 weeks? Must be nice. My last batch with NJSP down in Burl Co took 4+ months.... and that was after writing to Christie about the wait time, I was initially told it would be 7+!
  8. Wait, I'm confused.... this is straight from the NH non-res CC application... A non-resident pistol license will not be issued unless you supply: A copy (front&back) of your valid concealed carry license issued by the state, county, or town in which you reside. So how the hell does anyone from NJ get one? Or is that stipulation of getting one what they were brought to court over?

...that's the weirdest looking round I think I've ever seen... lol
  10. What an absolute crock of horse sh*t. Just further proves she wants NO ONE to have firearms... there are plenty of things for her to knit pick at (not saying I hope she does), but she chooses this. Something that would legitimately help someone who needs it. The tiniest step in the right direction for this ass backwards state. Glad my family isn't important enough to be adequately protected in public in her eyes. What's also hilariously, ironically, horrifyingly sad is that on the Facebook group, people were saying they could somehow see that the politicians they were emailing were deleting their messages without ever opening them. These people seem to forget, they work to represent US. Not to push their own political beliefs with their political position. Sh*t's sad.
  11. I also vote YHM. Have em on 2 of my AR's and love them.
  12. Aren't the Umbrella receivers labeled AR-15, making them a no-go in Jerz cuz of the name?
  13. If I remember correctly, it is technically not legal to transport your firearms or ammo between residences when moving. lol
  14. How does a firearm that's a semi-auto version of an automatic firearm, and any of the firearms on the named list of banned firearms for that matter, make them more "deadly" and therefore illegal that any other firearm that follows the rest of NJ's ridiculous laws?
  15. But the new address on his D/L wouldn't match his FID, so he wouldn't be able to buy ammo in NJ with it anyway. If you take your copy of the permit you bought the handgun with, you can buy ammo in that caliber with it. PITA, but it does work.
  16. The NY stock was an example. What I really want to build is something with the Ares SCR lower/stock or a single shot SPR. Because I can. All my AR's have pinned/welded brakes on them. If I build something with the Ares SCR lower, then I can legally have a FH, so I want one. lol Awesome, gonna have to give this a try when I get around to this project!
  17. This is along the lines of what I was thinking. I was picturing turning the front take down pin into something almost like a dumbbell, where you cant take it out.
  18. I'm not talking about taking it into NY. This hypothetical scenario is taking place entirely in NJ. This is if you had a NY compliant lower in NJ as a NJ resident.
  19. Hypothetically, you have 2 AR's, a normal run-of-the-mill NJ compliant AR and one of these goofy looking NY compliant AR's w/o the pistol grip. Since you're in NJ, on the NY AR you have a flash hider/threaded muzzle because you don't have the pistol grip counting as your "evil feature." However, being in possession of both at the same time is a no-no since the NY AR's upper can come off and be put on the NJ AR to readily make an "assault weapon." Is there a way to permanently attach a lower to an upper so this would not be an issue?
  20. He wasn't dumb for that, that's understandable. He was dumb for insisting to me I would be alright driving it home with NO tags at all.
  21. I bought my car in MD from this tiny auto dealer/mechanic who had like 4 cars in his "lot". I went to drive it home after signing everything, and I noticed he took the tags off. I told him I needed them to get back to NJ, but he insisted that he used to live in NJ and no one would bother me if I drove with no tags at all. I told him he was an idiot (in the nicest way possible), and he ended up photocopying his dealer tag that was originally on the car, and taping to my back window, and I drove home like that. Pure dumb luck that I didn't get pulled over during the 1.5+ hr trip.
