  1. Agreed. It was a bit weird seeing a 11-12 year old girl sing an angst-ridden song meant for a male tenor.
  2. I shoot my mouth off almost every day. Guns less often.
  3. It's a bunch of kids playing a pretty damned complex multi-layered rock song. Give 'em a break. The kid on the drums is the stand out. He's better than a lot of the "professional" rock drummers out there.
  4. How about "upstanding citizens who pay an assload of taxes"?
  5. I prefer not to be a guinea pig. I'd buy something more tried and true.
  6. Water and a drop of Dawn. Or Simple Green. Or whatever else is around.
  7. The Strikefire is a good middle of the line RDS. That's a very good deal w. the charging handle.
  8. A cheap ultrasonic cleaner works great.
  9. If you look at my post above, my opinion is based on trying several different mount/scope combos on an A2 handle.
  10. I have the earlier M9. The brass-ejection thing sorts itself out after 500 rounds or so. It now consistently dumps brass to the right. The stock trigger is better than any generation Glock I have shot. It's accurate, breaks down easily and eats any flavor of 9mm I feed it. Quite honestly, it is a better gun than a Glock. Steyr blew it because of sh*++y marketing.
  11. I'm all for shooting whatever configuration you want. This is America, after all! But comfortably and accurately shooting a scoped AR w. an A2 upper is like trying to harness unicorn farts in a hurricane.
  12. I would also have the FFL give you some kind of written letter or receipt on his company letter head... this is NJ, after all.
  13. Thanks for posting that. I'd be interested in the next first steps for women class for my girlfriend.
  14. ^ This. Your chin will have to be on top of the stock to get a good sight picture. I have an older Bushmaster A2 on which I tried a few different mounts. Now, I shoot it irons only. If it were my only AR, I'd switch to a flat top receiver.
  15. Call my buddy Mark from H&R Contracting. 973 951 3340
  16. Follow him down a dark alley and knee-cap him. Kidding... sorta.
  17. In depth article on steel v brass ammo in ARs: http://www.luckygunner.com/labs/brass-vs-steel-cased-ammo/ Personally, I run only brass cased in my ARs. It's cleaner, more accurate and more dependable. But I know plenty of people who run steel and have no/very few problems with it....
  18. The impending financial disaster is of much, much more concern to me than any Red Dawn fantasies.
  19. http://palmettostatearmory.com/index.php/labor-day-sale/ptac-16-m4-1-7-5-56-nato-yhm-rifle-length-diamond-rifle-kit.html That, along w. a decent lower, a compensator and a pinned stock will give you a much better rifle for just a little more coin. They really are easy to build. Plus, you get to know your rifle from the inside out... literally ;-)
  20. Hard to load? Depends on who you ask. My Single Six is a PITA to load and unload because of my sausage-link fingers. So much so that I hardly ever shoot it.
  21. Actually there are 3 generations. I have a Gen II. It's built like a brick shi+house and has been rock solid so far. The integrated mount is nice and tight. As to the weight, it only weighs an ounce or so more than an Aimpoint PRO. The multiple reticles are nice. It automatically shuts off after 2 hours... which is good and bad. Seeing as I'm not in Afghanistan, it's really not a big deal for me. The auto-brightness sensor works pretty well... although I prefer to operate it manually. For under $200, I don't think there is a better RDS out there.
  22. Midwest, the links in your sig are coming up dead. 500 Error. Looks like your server is down... at least for me.
  23. I have one. It was OK while it lasted (about 200 shots). No, I don't live in a garbage dump! It takes multiple shots to kill a regular house fly. It now sits, broken, on my work bench. The cocking mechanism (pump-like action) no longer works.
