If you actually read the bill, it is patently good for us. The "including" gives us a bare minimum that we KNOW is protected by law, and the "but not limited to" keeps wiggle room for other reasons that the judge thinks is reasonable. (We all know judge discretion about guns is mostly a joke in this state, but now that Fuzzy has been sworn in, maybe it's not as much of a joke as it used to be.)

It sounds like a great idea for short- to mid-term power outage, but the reviews are pretty bad on that Amazon page. The review distro is 11, 9, 0, 6, 11 (excellent--> poor)... very unreliable distribution. Great concept, but this particular product might not be the answer.

I saw the commercials and thought it looked great, but I just can't bring myself to contribute to Marky Mark's box office ratings. Utmost respect for the servicemen who had to go through the real-life events.

Bump because this is probably the most important section in here. You can get gear and supplies anywhere, but skills are hard to come by, they don't run out/get used up, and they never expire.

Where will you find your survival information?

Lol, does that come with a .dtf at the end of the filename? -

Six years ago, I bought a pair of "Montrail" hiking boots at EMS for a two week-long Philmont excursion. They're a leather/goretex combo with awesome ankle support, and they've never been the least bit uncomfortable (except for one single time when I had to wear wet socks for almost an hour and got a small blister from it - but wet socks can do that to you in any boot). Since then, they've also served me on two separate weeklong appalachian trail hikes and countless rainy, muddy days. They're still going strong and remain my go-to boots for just about anything. Sprayed them with waterproofing sealant for extra protection so I even worn them in snow sometimes. I can't recommend these boots enough. They were a bit pricey, but worth it. Needless to say, they currently serve as my emergency/bug out/bug in boots

Crap, I missed the low yesterday

Those built in tire pressure sensors are MANDATORY? *googles it* Wow. Some people are too incompetent to perform manufacturer-suggested regular maintenance, so we get a law...... thanks Nanny State. smh

Speeding tickets issued on the highway are stupid.

Nothing... spent the whole day eating leftovers, reading a novel, and celebrating with family. Black Friday the way it should be

Good luck and best wishes. Enjoy the freedom!

This might be the most ridiculous (literally ridiculous, as in deserving ridicule and derision) gun law ever passed in the state of NJ - banning all guns except those that match a very poorly-defined "standard" using some vague idea of technology that doesn't exist. (Mods: I'm sorry if you are offended by what I am about to say, but if you are then please just delete this post rather than moving it to the litterbox - there's plenty of good discussion here that I'm not trying to ruin.) All the above said: This is a law that should inspire civil disobedience. I lived my whole (admittedly short) life in NJ, but now I have tasted freedom in South Florida. It is sweet, it is delicious, and it is priceless. I'm so sick and tired of the New Jersey gov's attitude that its poop doesn't stink because it's a jerk to law-abiding gun owners. I still have a legal residence in NJ so I'm still in the political fight, and I'm telling you: this legislative crap has to change. Jon and I met one of the women who helped propose this law when we attended the statehouse Assembly vote for the February wave of gun control bills, and she was so proud of herself for having gotten this one the books. We tried reasoning with her and I got her to admit that mags over 10 rounds should grandfathered, but that's the best we could do while still remaining civil. I can't even....

Great idea! Beyond general "Eagle Scout level" survival knowledge, I can show you how to build a human-powered genny out of a bicycle, alternator, inverter, and car battery. ETA: the "human-powered" part has two benefits. 1) You can save your gas for more important things, 2) it's QUIET

The Maverick is such a good deal... still trying to justify it on top of my 590A1.

I picked up on this, too. Typical nj.com bullspit... can't wait for the knee jerk reaction my neighbors are going to have. *roll eyes*

I am astonished that this happened in my sleepy little square mile . Just goes to show, this kind of thing always happens in "such a nice town, I can't believe it happened here!" types of places. Major props to our officers for handling this as well as they did. Big thanks to the supporting departments who came in for backup.

I am solidly in the "all of them" camp, but if you forced me to pick just one....... hollowpoint restrictions. If the govt knows someone is gonna get shot, why the hell do they care whether the bullet expands by X% vs Y%? If anything, they should ENCOURAGE hollow points because they have less chance to overpenetrate and hit an innocent bystander! smh
