  1. Ha, ha, ha.....let's what and see. I still want to try the trigger you have.
  2. Good to know I could inspire another kindered soul. It will be interesting to see how our builds progress. Good luck to you you and I hope we can learn something from one another and hopefully to those who come after us......fight the good fight!
  3. That's how I roll! Just got tired of waiting....and they had it in stock. A gentleman was picking up a Colt Anaconda and we were waiting for NCIS to come back...what a beautiful gun.
  4. So I had to go to Best Buy to replace our 8 year old internet router that wen kaput. Since I was out that way any way I decided to swing by the local gun shop to see if they had any 9mm ammo in stock. I never did find out if they had any 9mm ammo in stock.... Bet you guys thought I was never going to get around to purchasing this! All good things come to those who wait. BEST Valentines Day gift EVER!
  5. Show them some of the info contained in this link....ask them why all the instances where guns are used to defend people / save lives (news links towards the end) are hardly ever mentioned or heard of in the news? http://americas-liberty.tumblr.com/post/75101020940/guns-save-lives Ask them if someone were trying to kick in their front door would they rather have a cop on the phone or a gun in their hand? Don't get upset, don't get emotional but have an intelligent conversation with them.
  6. I may go. Tickets range from abiut $35 -$100. I would be getting the cheaper seats ($35-$50).
  7. Look under the "Event & Meet Ups" tab. There is a regular clay shoot in Clinton. Lots of fun and you get to meet some of the other forum members. See you when the weather warms up!
  8. EAA Witness Match. SAO crisp trigger that is built on same platform as CZ75. Can purchase many different caliber conversion kits if you so desire without burning additional permits. The Witness Stock or Stock II are nicer looking versions with more upgrades/enhancements but costs more. http://eaacorp.com/hand-guns/
  9. Can we rename it the FUNJ card? That would probably be most appropriate.
  10. Supernatural - I have a Ruger GP100 in 357 (revolver) and a CZ 75 (all steel 9mm semiauto). I can meet you and the wife if you would like to try. I shoot at Heritage Guild in Easton, PA. They also have an extensive rental catalog. PM me if interested.
  11. Wish I could photoshop a shotgun into this.....Forrest Gump hurrican scene..... Enjoy gents.
  12. I currently have a Ruger GP100 in 357. I had originally purchased the 327 Magnum version on the GP100 and very much enjoyed it. It shot 32 (Long, Short and Magnum) and 327 Magnum. Very smooth shooting gun for a newbie. Could really only get ammo either online or at Heritage. Sold it on Gunbroker and used the proceeds to purchase the 357. 2nd purchase was my CZ75-B (9mm). A shooting buddy, who I met through this forum, introduced me to the CZ family through his CZ SP-01.....which is an updated version of the CZ 75-B. If you have never shot one you'll have to let me introduce you to them. I had never heard of CZ until I met SOF (friend's screen name). The Berretas are a nice, iconic looking gun. I believe the Berettas are based on the CZ platform in that the "slide rides inside the frame". I've heard the Berettas are real tack drives. I think a local non-shooting meetup sounds like a great idea. Seems there are quite a few of us around the area.
  13. The majority of voters don't want to pay higher taxes, year after year but still do. The reasonable answer to their unreasonable question/laws has already been answered. There are many more states that permit CC and NONE of them have deteriorated into "the old west". The only cities that have "blood running in the streets" because of guns are the cities where CC is restricted because all the WRONG people are walking around with guns. Think about it. Is a robber/car jacker/thug playing the KO "game" going to think twice about engaging in their illicit activity if there is a higher chance that their intended victim (or those in the immediate area) may be armed? Are people going go engage in more or less road rage if they know that the person they about to "lose it on" may be carrying? More law abiding citizens carrying equals less crime and less violence.
  14. I don't mind the burn marks on the cylinder so much. I ageee that it gives the gun a bit of character......kind of like scars with good stories. I shared the video of cleaning the burn marks more for others who may find it usefull. I don't like the bore and the chambers being dirty after cleaning them for 45 min - an hour. I'm def going to look into some of the products mentioned here to improve the cleaning / cut down on my time spent cleaning. Another NOOB question. Does shooting lead bullets result in much more fouling than shooting jacketed bullets? And I'm assuming that is what is meant when I read, "If you shoot a lot of lead bullets."........because my first thought was " Aren't all bullets made of lead?......What the hell are these guys shooting? Silver bullets?"
  15. I've been using Hoppes Elite and prior to that Hoppes #9 (switched after wife told me I was stinking the place up) to clean my Ruger GP100. What cleaner do you prefer, about how long does it take you to clean your revolver.....and is it every really, really clean. I'm still fairly new but it seems I can never get the chambers and barrel exquisitely clean unless I spend a crazy amount of time (close to 2 hours) cleaning. There is always some grey left on the cleaning patches. Tonight I cleaned it and took me over an hour. Used about 35 cleaning pads (the small ones) and at least 3 passes with the brass cleaning brush through barrel and each chamber. The method I use to clean I learned from this Ruger video and I do it in a very similar manner......solvent moistened cleaning pad, followed by clean, dry pad or two and then moistened brass cleaning brush and repeat a few times. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G_mtU4JZrfs I also stumbled across this video on how to clean burn marks and was wondering if anyone has ever tried it. Any risk of harming the finish or the gun? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=__4PRsKiAOM Also, how do I get the forcing cone area clean? I think I'm going to have to purchase a brass scrubbing brush to really work the cleaning clone area over. Someone recommended purchasing from Ebay what is essentially a dental pick/scraper to clean the forcing cone area. I was told it was advertised as gun cleaning utensil but it is pretty much a dental pick/scraper. Thanks in advance for your advice and wisdom.
  16. I would suggest "regional" groups that flow up to a head group. I'm newer around here but seems most of the meetings took place in South Jersey. Need meetings taking place ALL OVER where you have more people showing up and being active. I may not drive 45 - an hour away for a meeting but I think many wouldn't mind driving 15-20 minutes. Need to decentralize, increase members, drive the message out and increase active members.
  17. Make sure you have a nice firm grip as well. This guy rambles on a bit but I found his information useful. Good luck. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NCa4-9nav6A
  18. Diet and take walks around the neigborhood. How much are the closest gyms to you and how far? I would try gym first if not too far & too expensive. If you must buy a machine see if you can find a used one because most of them just end up being unused. Gym I to is $19 a month with no initiation fees. Planet Fitnesss. Good luck on getting in shape.
  19. Don't know about gun shops but try the T-bone at Ruths Chris. Enjoy.
  20. I don't think your dumb mipafox, sorry if it came off that way. The article was a little jumbled and seemed to be looking for some direction. Perhaps that's exactly why the author had to sum up the point of his writings in the last sentence. Maybe they wanted the reader (who most likely could be a current anti or on the fence person) to read the main idea last so they would remember it more clearly. While not a great article by any stretch of the imagination, I hope it gets at least a few people thinking for themselves and questioning why they are being regulated into defenselessness.
