  1. Went to install the trigger in my OBR... Would not fit with the BAD-ASS safety in place. Okay I can take it out, wait, I need to remove the grip first, okay no problem. Damn, I don't have the right size allen key with me. DAMN! Moved the SSA-E into my Noveske lower/SPR, moved the SSA from the SPR into a stripped Noveske lower. Now I guess I have to build that one...
  2. Ordered on on Black Friday for $99, it was delivered today.
  3. Bulletproofme had no issue sending me Lvl4 plates. SKD makes u sign a form. Just another reason NJ sucks ass.
  4. Good thread. I am playing with the idea of a 1-6/1-4 optic on my go to AR but every time I do the math, I just keep coming back to my AimPoint. The ID issue is a valid one but I can make consistent hits on steel from 200 and 300 yards with an Ainpoint. Hmm My other consern is that not all low power variables are as bright in sunlight as an Aimpoint. Seeing online videos isn't the whole story, I know but seems like the only one which is "as bright" is the Mark6 1-6 and at $2k it's an expencive experiment. My initial thought was a Vortex PST 1-4 to see if I even like a low power variable vs RDS. I may still go that way. I can always sell it with minimal loss of I don't like it. Man, you must have some crazy wide doorways if you can maneuver a shouldered 12ga shotgun through them and cut the corner on a corner fed or center fed room... In the dark... I'll stick to a pistol which I can keep at compressed ready and still have an effective firing platform rather than a barrel 24" in front of me which can be easily grabbed by anyone on the other side of the door.
  5. Ever consider a Tikka T3x CTR? Action is way better than Remington. Easily change the bolt knob. Excellent accuracy out of the box. Only problem I see are the stupid expencive magazines, but that can be alleviated when/if you go to a chassis.
  6. There are enough customers in CONUS to make up for NJ and the couple other states they don't want to sell lowers to. Don't you think they thought about that when making the policy change? Us not buying from them won't change a single thing.
  7. I'm in for the carbine class. Just signed up. I'll have to step up the beard game.
  8. Never heard of CDNN lol Im pissed at AIM as well, but they do have parts for good prices and frees hipping. Sucks having to use em, but oh well.
  9. The only hope for this state is a stacked SCOTUS and lots and lots of lawsuits.
  10. Oooooooof coarse they did. Is anyone surprised? Man this state is effed. I guess the Hitlary ammo buy panic is just going to turn into the NJ Sucks panic. Oh well, looks like I'll keep ordering more.
  11. IF that day comes, we hand 'em out to like minded friends who do not have any, spit on our hands, hoist the black flag and begin slitting throats. IF. But't that's just me. In the meantime, I am buying ammo, mags and replacement parts (bolts, BCGs, LPKs etc.)
  12. Maybe, but that won't stop being from panic buying and assholes like CTD from marking a case of 5.56 to $999 again. Just last night I was telling my wife that I have a wood furniture DDI 47S, and I need a polymer furniture one as well. HA!
  13. I usually use SG, AIM or TargerSports, though recently Cabela's had PNW match 308 for half price and free shipping. Couldn't say no. The UPS guys has been getting a workout delivering 30 and 40 pound packages to my house almost weekly for the last couple months.
  14. I have been trying to find a head to head review against an SSA-E. Trying to see if I want to replace the SSA-E and SSA in my OBR and PredatAR to make it all LaRue. Cause I am a label whore like that, but I don't want to give up functionality or accuracy.
  15. So much for the "I will not comply" mentality.
  16. Oh I am sure it can be done. That is what I was saying, you would have to pin the thread protector. That is so freakin' stupid. Damn I hate this place. I really want to order the PRI upper and make a true-ish SPR. But I dont want to ruin it. GR
  17. Can you even have a true Mk12 in NJ? Would you have to somehow pin the OPS thread protector onto the OPS brake? DD makes quality stuff. You will not be disappointed. Another option is an upper from PRI. http://www.precisionreflex.com/Detail.aspx?PROD=725130&CAT=4214 Seems to be the correct Mk12 specs and a little less than the same spec'ed BCM and HCS upper. I have had my eye on this for a looooooong time.
  18. I got my M&P9 there, the price was $10 less than the other store I visited. They did rape on a BM AR in Nov 2008 tho, but then again, everyone was taking advantage of everyone at that time. My boss and his M&P9 there, it was cheaper in Efinger's than at RTSP (even with his BS member discount) His BIL got a PPQ there. Their handgun prices were actually pretty damn good. No joke: when I bought my M&P9 they have NO 9mm ammo at all. I told them I have several thousand rounds and they offered to buy it off of me... WTF? We went there the day they announced the closing, I needed a new visor (hockey) and figured Id poke around the gun counter. The only visors they had were priced about 30% more than Hockey Monkey, so even with the 20% off, no savings there. They had 10rd M&P mags for $39, once again, more expensive with the discount than online without. They had one 15rd M&P mag, hard to find, same price and I was going to buy it, till I saw the 2 hour line. No thank you. Was a total waste of time.
  19. Love my DDI 47S. Seems to be made very well, has good reviews and wasn't expensive at all.
  20. I thought you couldn't hunt with a rifle in NJ, period. Shotgun, muzzle loader, black powder what have you, but not a centerfire or rimfire rifle at all. No?
  21. built my wife an AR with a 14.5 middie Centurion Arms barrel and it eats everything and never had a problem.
  22. I have traveled for work and vacationed outside NJ quite a lot, it sucks every single time. The best is when I was in Atlanta for the AIA convention, carrying around a bunch of libtarted Architects. I met up with former coworkers and they wanted to go to the CNN Center (firearms not allowed) for lunch, I was like, maybe we should just find a restaurant. They were all asking "whats wrong with the CNN center, they have a ton of food choices" I said "Um, cause I am carrying lol" After the initial freak out we found a nice BBQ place near by lol. Another good one is, I was working at a high end retail design firm in Manhattan and I was flying out with two coworkers to go to a site meeting in Texas. We would be gone for 1 night. I asked them to wait while I check my bag at EWR. "But your back is cary-on sized" "yeah, it is, but there is a gun in it" "OMG!!!!!!!! AAAAAAAAAH!" lol God I hate NJ
  23. I have noticed that the older HexMags I own, have a hard time seating on a closed bolt when fully loaded. If I slam them in, they don't lock in, if I press them in slowly, the lock easily. Odd, but it is what it is. The Rev2 ones were supposed to have solved that but I have not tried one yet. I think in a SHTF situation the only think I would trust would be an unmodified standard mag. Once you put a plastic block in there, alter the base plate or fix it in place, there is no way it will be as reliable (long term) as a mag which remains as designed.
  24. Not sure you will find "high end for $1,300. Maybe double to triple that. When I wanted a .308 AR there were only two brands that kept coming up as top of the heap for accuracy (snipershide) LaRue OBR 7.62, PredatOBR 7.62 or PredatAR 7.62. THe 'tOBR is also now available in .260 GAP-10 My friend has had good results with the Sig
