  1. How about Romancing The Stone or it's porn counterpart "Romancing the Bone?
  2. Right now I drive a 2012 VW Touareg TDI. It's been the best vehicle I've ever owned. Very reliable and plays right to my frugal side. 10K between oil changes. Gets about 30 miles to the gallon (26+ gallon tank) on the highway and 24 with mixed driving and I do a lot of long range driving for work. Only problem was the fuel pump going at 45K and that was paid for by my extended warranty which also made the extended warranty worth it. Now I have to choose between VW buying it back for 41,000 - way above what it's worth or having them "possibly" fix the emissions system for free and 10,000. cash. If I opt to keep it though, how do I sell it later if I even can sell it. I doubt it will have any trade in value too. Of all the other vehicles I've owned my favorite was a 1976 CJ7 - damm I had fun with that. Got into a bit of trouble with it too driving where I shouldn't have been. Also loved my 1967 Plymouth Fury. It could take 6 people camping with all their gear and a couple of canoes and still and room for more.
  3. Dave from MidState is a good guy and knows pools very well. He will do a good job eventually.
  4. Signing up for a new liner right now is opening yourself up for a big headache. Anyone doing pool liners now is booked solid and will lie lie lie to get your business but can't possibly get the job done by mid summer. By that point why bother if your leaving next year.
  5. Had to put GFI's in the pool shed. Every time it rained the GFI would trip turning off power to pool cover pump. What genius thought of this!
  6. Had one mixed in with a box of UMC 9s Jammed my Sig up. The ROB used a dowel to remove the stuck casing.
  7. Porterhouse for two and a side 2 lb. lobster tail.

The NATO rounds are spunky. The pinkey grip should help.
  9. I've found that smaller rental companies can cause big delays. Is price all that matters? Always decline insurance, yes you are responsible but you're covered in several ways...home policy, your own car policy and credit card as last resort (some credit cards offer primary insurance). I always use Hertz if possible, they're most expensive but many times customer is paying. If I'm paying I may shop around but it'll cost you a lot more if you miss your flight especially if it's the last one out that day! Your phone most likely has a much better GPS than the rental NAV. Don't bother with it. I just say OK Google get me the fastest route to O'Hare and it does. It will take you around traffic like you were a local. Don't take the gas option - fill it up within 20 miles of returning.
  10. My town calculates your usage only during a six month "off season" period, I think it's from October through March. It then bases your yearly sewer tax on that period. It seems a little fairer since those months you're using less water - no sprinklers or pool filling.
  11. BTW the sewer usage fee is not technically part of your property tax since it's a "usage fee". If you complain about losing the deduction you'll be told that you're supposed to have been backing this out of your property taxes when claiming the deduction on your . Clark went to this about 5 or 6 years ago and then Rahway (where I had a rental property).
  12. How to raise taxes with out raising taxes. Take something included in your tax bill and separate it as a usage fee. Sewer, garbage, water etc. are all targets. The person you want to vote out will be sending around fliers at election time (paid for by you) claiming how he/she kept taxes low and most will have forgotten about that new "fee".
  13. Used to go to Bernies by Dingman ferry. Don't know if it's still open but it was a great location on the Delaware on Pensy side.
  14. Princeton Review. Take practice test each week for several weeks and review your score and what you need help in. This leads up to ther real test so your child is practiced and on target what test is taken.
  15. Had one I liked but forgot. For the most part I hate 'em. I seems they just dump pumpkin spice (especially heavy on clove) in crappy beer.
  16. Physical gold is taxed at the full rate not at long term investment rates of 15% too. So be careful when selling.
  17. Doesn't it lower your taxable income by the amount donated. If your in the 20% bracket it'll save you 1340 in taxes.

  22. HMMM. I have Walmart stock. Technically I'm a part owner... Sounds like an easy trip to the slammer.
  23. Garden of the Gods in Colorado Springs. Manitou Springs and Pike's Peak cogged railway (get tix early in seats facing the mountain). Canyon City jeep tour was great up Fremont mtn. and over the Arkansas River gorge. There's also the Red Rocks Amphitheater outside of Denver - just to visit or see a show.
