  1. Interested in the next one. I've never shot any competitions so I might go and watch a few to get an idea before hand.
  2. Another welcome from Colonia and Lake island.
  3. Same set up here and the driver did it with the pallet jack without issue. My wife tipped him after so it wasn't for the money. R&L great service
  4. I lost mine about a year ago. They required a police report filed and then it was just a matter of submitting a new form and waiting for the duplicate to come in. I took advantage of my time there to put in for 3 p2p's just so I got something extra out of the process.
  5. I took off the door used a good hand truck & with just a little help from my wife did it myself. I don't advise doing it that way but after being annoyed ie. my "friends" didn't show up and it was sitting in the driveway I went for it. Went 5 steps up on an over a deck that I'm redoing now because it was shot then down 10 or more old steps into the basement got it in place. I'm 170 and not young so with 2 people you'll be fine. The only reason the wife got involved was because she saw me stewing out front and knew something stupid was about to happen. Nothing says I have guns like a new safe just sitting in your driveway.
  6. Picked one up last sale. Very happy with it but then I needed to fill it! Has a hole in the back so you can wire an outlet. Would've been nice if it were pre-wired though.
  7. Most of the people that have replied to this thread must be really good at thinking things thru. I for one would not be that controlled in the situation. I honestly don't think a firearm would have been my first thought for my car or items in it or even my fifth but I will say this. the feeling that comes with someone violating you or doing something at the place where my family sleeps would not be a mistake that I would let slip by. I'm not really sure how I would react but it would not be rational. I feel bad for anyone that this happens to even more so if the deed is done and there left without any recourse. Going over the silly laws in this state could take a lifetime if someone's at my front door looking for an easy mark they've come to the wrong address.
  8. Take care of it if you catch them and don't ask opinions on the interwebs
  9. Your both right. The mental health is the only thing that hasn't come back. Trying to push the process along without being annoying then being pushed to the bottom of the pile. I have someone holding a like new model 19 and don't want to lose it. They have done my check twice in the past year so I thought the time frame would at least be the same, wasn't expecting double the wait. So now it's time to watch the calendar days float by. Then again it could be worse.
  10. Well now almost 2 months later the easy digital way still hasn't come back. Called the clerk and after 6 weeks all their work is done but waiting on the background. So much for woodbridge being quick!! Called again today same status
  11. + 1 for the DD fixed sight. Had a flip up that gave me problems. Put the fixed on and never looked back
  12. Was at Garden State about 3 hours ago. They have even more powders in the case now and I have to say I've been in a lot of shops over the last year and a half and that is the best treatment I've ever gotten. I was there once about two weeks ago there was 4 or 5 guys working and everyone of them is the same just good people! Good people with good prices
  13. My thought on this are simple. A lot of people have the mag limits and gun laws in general on their minds. Now we should keep moving forward with the same energy to try and change some of the other silly laws before CC is no longer in the building.
  14. Just curious if anyone from the thread was up there today. I was there from 9:30 til about one. All good safe shooters, range officer was fine looked like everyone present was having a great day. Filled up a little as we were leaving but no one waiting on a bench.
  15. I have a Nikon m223 2x8 that's works great at 100 and beyond. My choice was partially made on the smaller but still somewhat powerfull specs. I shoot at efga every weekend. When your at the range ask some of the people to look thru what ever they have. Most people are happy to show off their goods it'll make it easier to make a decision. Post if you'll be there this weekend and if I'm there you can try mine a put a few rounds down range with it. John
  16. I'm starting to think there's 2 different EFGA's because I've been going on the weekends mostly Saturday mornings and have never witnessed any thing other then the gung-ho RO and a brass whore from time to time. The attitude issues I can get over easily but someone shooting while anyone is down range is just insane! I hope I never have to see something so stupid and I agree taking the last ten badge numbers in the book would be a good idea.
  17. Check with your town. I have a useless money order sitting in my console because I filled it out. I think it's scrap paper now. Woodbridge twp. Changed over since the last time I picked up P2P's.
  18. I'm starting to think about getting rid of my FID and run with nothing!!! Less restrictions, less jail time, less worring about the laws changing while we sleep and wake up felons.now the front door is being watched by the gov. On one side and the criminals on the other! That last part is redundant isn't it?
  19. I'd stick with my XDS 45. Small enough and carries a large punch!
  20. I don't think anyone can really be ready for you! Unfortunately they play by there rules but I'm happy that your on our side. Keep up the good work.
  21. Am I the only person that doesn't think 120. Is out of line? Think about it the way the laws keep changing there may come a time that buying anything online is out of the question. I honestly don't mind paying a reasonable markup because if I have a problem or need repair or just feel like asking a few questions there right there. Also if we don't support those shops they can't support their families and in the end the doors close.
  22. I took john fox up on his invite about a year ago. Lake island is a great club! I've learned more and meet more knowledgable people in the last year then most people will meet in a life time. The club is very laid back no waiting EVER! The people there are willing to spend time with any member to help and critic in your progress if you need it. I realize I wasn't the normal shooter and had everything to learn but never had to wait long before someone would help. I also belong to EFGA and shoot rifle almost every weekend so for me as far as places go I can't ask for anything else.
  23. After you pick them up could you give a review. I'm looking for something more comfortable then the HL compact sport elec. that I wear now but like hearing the conversation around me mostly for safety. The regular push in rubber ones become annoying after a while and the expanding never seem to seat right. I have the typical hum in one ear and would like to prevent from getting it in stereo! Years ago I was planning on getting a pair for riding they have booths set up at most motorcycle shows just never followed thru. Thanks John
  24. Looking for opinions on this upper. http://palmettostatearmory.com/index.php/psa-16-mid-length-stainless-223-wylde-ss12g2-without-bcg-or-charging-handle.html I have a lower and want something that's accurate between 1&300 yds. If this isn't good, any idea where I could find a decent barrel. Starting with a bcm blem upper that I have and building around it might be a better idea it's just looking thru the tons of choices is confusing. My end plan is a 16-18" mid length barrel with a full length hand guard. I have a m-223 scope and an SSA-E waiting for it. Wouldn't mind spending up to 600. For complete upper I could always get to the stripped upper rec. next time. Thanks, John
  25. I 2nd the XDS. I had a burning permit last month and bought one just for PA carry. Turned out to be a great shooter. Shot it the first time at my local range 25yds and it surprised me with accuracy. Mind you it's a small 45 so it needs to be held but a perfect carry gun.
