  1. Cooper said in an interview that he had only "met" Chris Kyle via a quick phone call. But his heart seems to be in the right place.
  2. Christmas release I believe here in the states. You can bet I'll be there before New Years. I hope Mr. Cooper did Chris Kyle's story justice.
  3. Yes, when emergencies hit, HAM radio operators generally have communications up and running within hours. HAM is the way to go.
  4. I've had nothing but problems with Remington .22 in my P22. Same with Winchester, won't cycle my P22 reliably. I stick with CCI in the P22. I save the cheap stuff for rifle time.
  5. Just placed an order for 115, 124, and 147 gr new 9mm to try out in the new PPQ. Thanks for the heads up!
  6. Have you tried a Walther PPQ? It comes in 9mm, not .380 but shoots easier than any .380 I've ever shot. Loads easier to shoot than my PPK, or a Glock 42. I've yet to find a .380 that shoots easier than the PPQ. And I'm one of those strange .380 fans.
  7. The biggest drawback to having that many calibers? Storing all the ammo! I only have five calibers... and keeping my ammo stored and organized can be quite fun. Ammo boxes and ammo boxes, sorted by caliber. Make sure I have enough on hand in case I can't find any, and I usually buy by the case when I can, especially the cheap stuff like 9mm, 12ga, and .22 when I can find it.
  8. Always enjoyed Richard's stuff... ...and as far as funding... he's definitely well off somehow. He's got plenty of guns, camera equipment capable of that slow motion, and skydives regularly (including HALO jumps from time to time). Licensed for explosive work... you know, all the things that are a little pricy to get Always an entertaining channel too.
  9. Most places will accept a scanned copy of your FPID for handgun ammo, and they'll keep it on file for future orders. Personally, I buy a good portion of my 9mm from Dicks in Rockaway, the range, or I'll road trip to Cabela's and get a few different manufacturers to try out.
  10. I was a Boy Scout at summer camp at Mount Allamuchy. I was probably 11 or 12 too and decided to take both rifle and shotgun that year. Other than the fact that the ranges were ALL the way at the top of the mountain, it was worth it. I still have some of my rifle targets, five rounds of .22 all in the black at 25 yards. Not bad for no formal training. As far as shotgun goes? The first time I got up, I shot 5/5. That's when I got the bug. The next time, I was somewhere around 7/10. Needless to say 15 or so years later, I'm getting back into it all again.

    Glock 19

Agreed on all counts! I wanted to like Glocks, I really did. I find them to be meh. They work great. They shoot ok. They just don't feel right in my hands. That being said... the PPQ is everything that people like about Glocks, without everything they don't. The PPQ fits my hand like a glove, shoots itself without aiming, and is SEXY. I can't justify two 9's right now either, so I got the one I really wanted, the PPQ. Have you shot them both? When I shot them, that was the deciding factor, there will be no Glocks in my future... except MAYBE a G42... the only Glock I've kind of liked.
  12. Love the show, sad to see it go. I'll be watching for sure.
  13. If you ever get out to RTSP, let me know. I'd like to compare the M1 to the M2!
  14. The guys got a point! I've definitely witnessed some shady dealings at random gun stores around the country but nothing this bad!
  15. I make that pilgrimage once every month or two. Mostly for reloading stuff though if they have it. And some funky caliber ammo too. Last time I came home with a Remington 870 though... Can be dangerous!
  16. Glad you guys had a good time, wish I could've made it! That being said, sign me up for the next one!
  17. Since my shotgun has a 28" barrel, won't do me much good in a HD/SD scenario; I use it for clays. That being said, I stock mostly target loads. Remington Gun Clubs in #7-1/2 or #8 or Winchester Super Targets if I can't get the former. Also have some slugs for fun at the range, but mostly just target loads.
  18. I was actually indifferent to the M1/M2 bit. Either is fine with me. On the M1 I'm used to the paddle from my P22. On the M2 the mag release button is right under my thumb. The only handgun I haven't had to reposition my brio to hit it with my girly hands!
  19. Mostly .380 and 9mm here. Some .32 and I'll shoot .22 too. Now that I can reload .380 for $0.14 each, I'm in .22 territory. I'd prefer to shoot .380 since it's only $0.03-0.04 more expensive. Oh and 12 gauge too.
  20. A lot of Winchester White box here across all calibers (I really like the brass for reloading) but also use PMC, Remington UMC and American Eagle regularly. I'll buy Magtech and PPU if it's on sale for a good price too. When you get around $0.20 a round, I'm pretty comfortable with extra cleaning.
  21. Gun porn coming soon (the light in my basement is awful). That being said, this is Walther #4 and this has just become my favorite. Earl, I went with the 4" even with the 5" right next to it. If I'm only going to have one, it's going to be the 4" so I can carry it in free America one day. The 5" is beautiful, but too much to spend on a range/target gun right now for me.
  22. ...and I'm in love. Another great transaction from the guys at RTSP! I've been drooling over the PPQ for a while now (and typically rent theirs on my way home from the office if I need to shoot without getting home first) and I'm proud to say I now have my own! One PPQ M2 in 9mm, two magazines, two boxes of 9mm and two targets makes this guy a happy, happy camper!
  23. Welcome from Morris County!
  24. Kaiser, let me know how that goes for you... I'm interested in moving into reloading shotshells eventually.
