  1. Why is that? What if I carry a pistol unloaded or with just one round in the chamber? Not sure what you mean here...
  2. Agree. Add a scary label to something and it's easier for politicians to pretend like they're doing something of value. Interesting article that talks about cop-killer, black talon, and hollow point ammunition: https://www.guns.com/news/2011/10/26/the-myth-of-the-cop-killer-bullet
  3. I'll start reading th e230 pages after lunch, but I'm glad to see that the Insurance requirement is off the table for now...
  4. Just saw the ANJRPC update: COURT CONTINUES BLOCKING MOST OF CARRY KILLER LAW! May 16, 2023. Today, the judge in ANJRPC's lawsuit to overturn the carry-killer law imposed a preliminary injunction continuing and expanding its prior restraining order blocking key aspects of New Jersey's defiant "carry-killer" law. The decision also for the first time now blocks the liability insurance mandate which was supposed to take effect starting in July. The move represents another huge win for New Jersey gun owners, and means that much of the carry-killer law will continue to be suspended for the duration of the case. Gun owners did not prevail on every one of the many issues in the case, but it is clear that gun owners have succeeded in blocking the most significant aspects of the law for the duration of the case. CLICK HERE and scroll to item 24 to see this extremely significant court decision, which is 230 pages long! ANJRPC will be providing detailed analysis of the decision and its implications in an upcoming alert once a full analysis of the decision is complete. Gun owners can join the fight by clicking here to donate to this historic lawsuit. 5. Yes, that's what I'm looking for. What's the source of your information?
  6. You could always go with a striker fired pistol with a safety. Or a hammer-fired pistol. Or a hammer-fired pistol with a safety. Or a revolver.
  7. Where are you getting that information? I agree that re-holstering can be a time where ND happen, but I've never seen a statistic that says it's the most frequent cause. I would have guessed that it was "when attempting to clean the gun".
  8. Indeed. IMO unless it's a location that has metal detectors at the entrance or that's specifically restricted by law, I'm not overly concerned with the signage. If they somehow see my concealed gun and ask me to leave I'll do so.
  9. Get one of these for your phone: https://www.amazon.com/Phone-Tripod-iPhone-TalkWorks-Adjustable/dp/B0852K8KD7/ref=sr_1_6?crid=Y97ULYFXQXYF&keywords=flex%2Bphone%2Bstand&qid=1683660780&sprefix=flex%2Bphone%2Bstand%2Caps%2C103&sr=8-6&th=1
  10. My wife and I went the joint-account route and it's worked well for us. We've been married for 25 years (together 28) and for the first 8 years she made more than me. After that I started making more and the gap increased pretty significantly. We have a large family, so the logistics of splitting costs seemed like it would take more time than it was worth (particularly now with multiple kids in college) so we always combined things. I have some guns and some musical instruments, and she has her hobby stuff, but most of the extra spend for both of us has gone towards family stuff (vacations, camper, kayaks, etc, etc). Yes, from a strict dollar perspective I'm contributing 'more', but it works for us.
  11. Thanks Stu. I have a USPSA membership, but it's difficult to get into matches (I'm in north Jersey) so I'd have no problem joining IDPA as well, as long as I can actually get into the matches. Some clubs will allow non-members to shoot, but members register first and matches are always full before non-members can get in.
  12. Thanks for sharing. Are non-members welcome on both Wednesday and Saturday matches?
  13. Make sure to order some primers too: Winchester USA Ready Small Pistol Match Primers Box of 1000 (10 Trays of 100 $55.00 https://gunsdealshops.com/product/winchester-usa-ready-small-pistol-match-primers-box-of-1000-10-trays-of-100/ No Hazmat fee.
  14. Seems like a current commercial manufacturer is about to land a BIG government project. I suspect that means their commercial distribution will end, so current customers will have to go elsewhere...
  15. I absolutely appreciate that perspective, and a couple of my friends have said the same. On the other hand I think if people like brucin and others hadn't jumped in and forced NJ to start delivering on permits, nobody would have them right now. we'd still be in a state of confusion where NJ did everything possible to delay things in the courts until there was "clarity". Yes, it's a bit inconvenient for people like brucin right now, but the early-adopters helped to move the ball to where it is now. Hopefully by the time 2 years passes and we look to renew the fees will have been corrected back to a more reasonable amount.
  16. Indeed. And now they're refusing to follow the directions IN THEIR OWN ORDERS to add additional firearms. Court managers are rejecting requests and telling people to instead apply for a brand new permit. Absurd...
  17. 2C:58-4 Permits to carry handguns . 2C:58-4. a. Scope and duration of authority. Any person who holds a valid permit to carry a handgun issued pursuant to this section shall be authorized to carry a handgun in a holster concealed on their person in all parts of this State, except as prohibited by subsection e. of N.J.S.2C:39-5 and section 7 of P.L.2022, c.131 (C.2C:58-4.6). One permit shall be sufficient for all handguns owned by the holder thereof, but the permit shall apply only to a handgun carried by the actual and legal holder of the permit and, except as otherwise provided in subsection b. of section 6 of P.L.2022, c.131 (C.2C:58-4.5), shall not be construed to authorize a holder to carry a handgun openly, provided that a brief, incidental exposure of a handgun while transferring it to or from a holster or due to the shifting of the person's body position or clothing shall be deemed a de minimis infraction within the contemplation of N.J.S.2C:2-11.
  18. Someone PLEASE buy this so I don't have to...
  19. Dead on arrival unless Republicans have majority in the House, Senate, and a Republican President. Period.
  20. If you price it right there's always a buyer. Unfortunately there were a TON of panic buyers during COVID who picked up anything that looked like an AR, so the entry level people are pretty much covered.
  21. Respectfully, if nobody went through the process it wouldn't exist. Yes the system is flawed and can be expensive, but the more people that force the issue now, the more it will benefit everyone later. If there were only a handful of people applying it would be easy for the courts, police, and Murphy to simply let the option to CCW die on the vine...
  22. Yup. No purchase permit like a pistol, but you do need to go through the FFL...
  23. The folks who make the Roni added this language to most of their offerings (and they always had language about NJ being a 'no'): "*In The USA, ATF Rule 2021-08F, Published in the Federal Register on January 31, 2023 makes the Micro RONI with Arm Support NFA Registration required. Purchasers have until May 31, 2023 to become in compliance with the regulations. For further information please see ATF.gov or The Federal Register Volume 88 No. 20 pg 6478 Tuesday January 31, 2023
