  1. Bad choice because: You NEVER want to restrict what you might need for personal defense. It's still legal to possess 15 rounders at home.
  2. Isn't that an oxymoron? Aren't the deputies, sheriffs and state police law abiding citizens? Shouldn't THEY be consider dangerous too? What makes them special? If our attorneys point that out, it should end this crazy magazine ruling, once and for all.
  3. I wondered about that earlier too, when I read the state's position on magazines. Not a good argument for them. Wouldn't it be a real kick in the pants if we were "forced" to buy standard, 30 rounds mags, like the majority of the free states?
  4. That's called "Liberal Logic", you'll never understand it, remember, Liberalism is a mental disease!
  5. See, you created a monster, just hope she never uses them on you.
  6. July 12, 2018. This afternoon, a U.S. District Court Judge in Trenton heard oral argument on ANJRPC's motion for an injunction halting enforcement of the new magazine ban law until the case is decided. U.S. District Judge Peter Sheridan called a pre-hearing conference in chambers where he told counsel that he is scheduling a full-blown hearing on certain factual aspects of the case by mid-August. Specifically, experts who provided declarations for both sides will be brought into court to provide further detailed testimony under oath. Following the conference in chambers, Judge Sheridan heard brief oral arguments from both sides. ANJRPC's legal team included attorneys from the law firm of Cooper & Kirk in addition to attorney Dan Schmutter. Counsel made a forceful case for why the injunction should be granted and the case resolved in favor of gun owners. They argued that New Jersey's gun owners would suffer irreparable harm if they are forced to sell, surrender, destroy or modify their property during the short compliance window, before the case is decided. They also argued that the magazine ban is unconstitutional and should be overturned because it violates the Second Amendment, violates equal protection, and is an unlawful "taking" of property. A large group of attorneys represented the State and other governmental defendants. They argued (among other things) that magazines over 10 rounds are dangerous and unusual weapons not protected under the Second Amendment, are not needed for self-defense, and are a danger to the public, even in the hands of law-abiding citizens.
  7. Sadly, this is where I think we are. Putting the "toothpaste back in the tube" ain't going to happen. Repealing existing laws, both in NJ and the USA is a long shot. Best hope is that they STOP squeezing the tube to let MORE toothpaste out and keep the status quo. And if you think voting every two years is the answer, how's that worked out the past few decades. We're way past the ballot box solution. The only next true fix is the ammo box, either by revolution or civil war. History has a way of repeating itself.....
  8. Just read this morning, right after they got the last group out, the main pump broke and the cave filled back up with water. Someone up above was watching out for those boys.
  9. It's a great idea if you can stay regimented and don't tap into those funds for some other use. Any major surgery can run into the thousands, and if you can park that off to the side, you won't need insurance. Problem is, most people can't save like that, and will snag that saved money to buy a new AR, new playtoy or go on vacation. It also depends on how far you go and are willing to spend to help the dog. Everyone has a different threshold and ceiling on what they'll spend to help/save their poochie.
  10. So are the college kids, bashing him for his pick. Unfortunately, he hasn't named his choice yet, but the Liberal college kids apparently haven't received that memo, from New York University: Protests Planned As Students Already Hate Trump's "Racist, Negative" SCOTUS Pick (Before It's Announced) Despite the fact that Trump’s decision was still days away from being finalized, students unanimously condemned Trump’s move, harshly criticizing the president’s nonexistent nominee. “He’s quite extreme in his views,” said one student of the fictitious Judge. “I saw it all over the news, that he’s like racist,” another student added, referring to the announcement that hadn’t yet happened. “I saw the new nominee is like racist, and he’s starting a new wave of something very negative, and I’m really scared about the future and what choices he will make,” another pupil added. When asked if she’d seen the online coverage of the event, one faculty member described witnessing “outrage… as it should be.” What else did students have to say? Did anyone realize the decision had not yet been made? Watch the full video to find out:
  11. If $40 for ammo is breaking your budget, you've picked the wrong sport to participate in.
  12. That's a good point, but with a younger dog, these surgeries need to be done correctly by a good surgeon, otherwise it will be a serious problem for the dog the rest of it's life and a weak area to reinjure in the future. I agree, I have the insurance too.
  13. There is also similar ones available for the 10 round 10/22 mags.
  14. How about a simple fix with a quick spray of silicone into the lower and on the mag?
  15. Wow, have times changed... In the old days, we just called our family on the phone to tell them what we were having...
  16. Not where I buy it. But he thought he needed the Handgun P2P to buy ammo.
  17. I doubt it. It's not like the FID and P2P paperwork is a single small postcard form that's quickly filled out. If someone is smart enough to fill out all that bullshit correctly and get approved, they should know most of the answers to those questions. ..."Do ammos go bad or stale or expire ?" "ammos"??? Really?? Maybe reading isn't his first natural skill learned... if he looked at the top of his P2P, it says "Permit to Purchase a Handgun". Ammo isn't even mentioned anywhere. Also, most people I know, who applied for permits, already did a bunch of "window shopping" while waiting for their permits to be approved. One would think some of those questions would have come up during that research. Was it ever?
  18. I believe, after reading lots of things on Reddit, that these people are really this stupid. There's no doubt, the population is getting dumber, thanks to smartphones and social media. The current Millennial population is proof of that.
  19. Ahh, geez, you take all the fun out of it. What's the matter, don't you like to live dangerously?
  20. OK, you can start with this one, here's one from the Reddit board, talk about scary.... So you think the 10 round mag questions and the new law are silly? Go read the responses on that thread, one guy wants to know if laminating your FID card voids it.... even more scary stuff...
  21. Going DOWN the stairs should be easy, you have gravity to help. Going UP later will be the project. Sliding it down on it's back shouldn't be an issue with three guys. Put a strap around it so the guy on the top can hang on, and two guys on the bottom should be a piece of cake sliding down on it's back, then have a dolly waiting on the bottom.
  22. Probably the same number arrested for having 16+ round mags.
  23. I had some issues with the hand signals and cues early on with wifey, my son and grandson, and I finally had to lay the law down with them exactly how the commands and hand signals should be done. There was definitely confusion until they all got on the same page, as they all wanted to do them their own way. Now, my little dude actually responds better to hand signals than verbal commands. Hand signals are truly the way to reinforce the verbal cues. That has always been my goal. Plus, if the dog learns hand signals, he'll still be able to follow cues either when it's noisy or you need to be silent. Kinda goes along with the saying "People remember 20% of what they HEAR, but remember 70% of what they SEE and HEAR". This is an area I screwed up in the beginning. The normal process is to use a lot of treats until the dog really understands and follows the cues regularly. I didn't want him to look at me as a "snack machine", so I varied when I used treats, and switched up with just using lots of praise (thinking I can always offer praise, but might not always have treats). With a puppy, that wasn't the best plan, and it took longer to master those particular cues, not using treats solidly in the beginning, until he became automatic with the cue. I never went the "clicker" route, as once again, I didn't him want to become fixated and rely on an outside tool. I just got him use to my whistle or finger snap. Those two, I know I always have with me. THIS is the most important point to remember. Consistency is number one in training and molding behavior, and not allowing bad habits to take hold, that you'll have to correct in the future.
