Ruger Blackhawk question

I have the opportunity to purchase a used Old Model (3 screw) .357 Magnum Blackhawk with 6 1/2" barrel for $175. The gun has holster wear in the bluing near the muzzle, but the barrel is very clean. Any opinions on whether this is a good deal or not?

Sounds like a VERY good deal. People are getting $175 just for the flap holsters for them!

Just beware of the safety issue with them. Not a big deal if handled correctly for a single action revolver.

Some were modified to incorporate a hammer block. A gunsmith would probably be the best way to determine if it was converted. Ruger will convert it. Info as listed...

The gun does not have the transfer bar installed, I am aware of the safety recall from many years ago. Empty chamber under the hammer...

I would say it is an excellant deal. The minor wear to the bluing should not be an issue. Just keep the exterior lightly coating with oil to prevent rust.

I just picked the gun up today. It looks like it is going to be a lot of fun. According to the Ruger site it was made in 1967.
