I stopped reading their email alerts - love the organization, but their email "alerts" were just ham-fisted alarmist fundraising b.s. To really get updates on what's happening, read their twitter feeds (using nitter.net, a twitter proxy that lets you read twitter feeds without having to log in and/or be tracked): https://nitter.net/gunpolicy https://nitter.net/2aupdates (Feed of Rob Romano, a FPC legal analyst) 22 minutes ago, revenger said: once defeated what is the plan? would the next move be theirs ? The Wed hearing is for the anti-carry case, and I believe that's to decide if the court will grant NJ's appeal of what remains of Bumb's injunction (basically eliminating the injunction and putting the entire law back in effect). I doubt we'll get a decision on that on Wed, but maybe end of this week or sometime next week. For the AWB/Mag ban cases, I think next event is judge rules on motions for summary judgement. If summary judgement not granted, then there will be additional hearings, indeterminate timeline.

revenger 473 Posted October 24, 2023 "(basically eliminating the injunction and putting the entire law back in effect)." So should that happen I assume our side is prepared to immediately appeal to the SC justice who handles the 3rd circuit?

So should that happen I assume our side is prepared to immediately appeal to the SC justice who handles the 3rd circuit? Perhaps, but likely that appeal wouldn't result in any action. So far SCOTUS has not acted on any appeal for "extra-procedural" intervention in a 2A case in the circuit courts.
ESB 247 Posted October 24, 2023 https://www.anjrpc.org/page/ArgumentInCarryKillerAppealOct25 ORAL ARGUMENT TO OCCUR IN CARRY-KILLER APPEAL 10/25 October 24, 2023. The appeal in ANJRPC’s carry-killer lawsuit, Siegel v. Platkin, will be argued tomorrow morning (Wed. 10/25) at the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit in Philadelphia. You can listen in on the court’s live stream audio on YouTube at approximately 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday October 25, by clicking here. Gun owners will recall that, after Judge Bumb’s historic ruling in the lower court earlier this year granting an injunction blocking large portions of the carry-killer law, the State appealed to the middle level federal court, seeking to reinstate the law. At the request of the State, the appeals court partially suspended the lower court’s injunction for the duration of the State’s appeal, thereby reinstating large swaths of the carry-killer law. ANJRPC simultaneously sought to expand the court’s injunction to block more of the carry-killer law. At tomorrow’s hearing, the parties will make their various arguments to the court, which will render a decision at a later date. bennj 215 Posted October 26, 2023 Same 2 anti judges and 1 2A judge, didn't Einstein say something about insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result? As well-reasoned the arguments were from our side, and as baseless the arguments from Cai and company were, I am not optimistic that the anti judges will adhere to our constitution or the bill of rights. But hope springs eternal.

bennj 215 Posted October 27, 2023 Not to be contrarian, but I believe it can be. It also may be all we have, despite the excellent work being done by our defense, because of the evident prejudices of certain judges.
