I have been looking at prices for k98k's and and M1903 springfields and the range is ridiculous online. Any place I can go to get prices that I can use to compare to.

I usually check the going rate on gunbroker.com to see what people are paying. I do most of my research there before i actually go shopping.

Thanks, I am obsessive when it comes to research. When I bought my last gun there was a $150 range just within the state and I hate to feel ripped off. Esp when I have to pay the tax on the amount I was ripped off for.

Just figure what you are looking for and research on the net. Sometimes locally is worst off than having to pay shipping when you order one from the net. Deals are out there, just a matter of finding one.

Its amazing how much the price differnce is even in NJ, I was looking at an HK45 and between Meltzers, Rahway and BulletHole there was a $250 range.

 

NJ provides a big enough thrust that I dont think of Uncle Same, just corzine putting it in. When I see tax on a egg mcmuffin I get soooo pissed.

The M1903A's also have new barrels, the Mosin's have barrels of unknown quality and shape.

A bunch of the 1903's where sporterized years ago , I have one and they drilled the receiver in 2 spots cut the front site off and it kills me every time I look at it.

And that drove the value up they sold for nothing so who cared.

Kinda like the mosins people are drilling receivers swapping stocks cutting off bayo lugs .

Don't forget..supply and demand. About three years ago, you could find good deals on Garands.

Even CMP had a good supply. Then you had two great Movies. Saving Private Ryan, and the series, Band of Brothers. All of a sudden, everyone and their grammas' wanted a Garand.
