XS BigDot sights?

Does anyone have any experience running XS BigDot sights on any of their handguns? Opinions? good bad?

I have looked at them on a S&W Nightguard. It made picking up the front sight very easy.

I have used both the big dot and the standard dot. I like them both but prefer the standard dot. Next time I see you, you are welcome to give them a try. I had a pic of both, I will see if I can dig it up.

It looks like the tritium element is the same size and just the white dot is larger, is that correct?

Thanks Joel. I'm actually thinking about putting a set on before the handgun class and give them a try... that way if I like them, I'll just run them for the entire class. I'm just having a hard time deciding between the XS sights and something like the Heine Straight 8s. 2 dot rears seem to be too distracting for me and make it difficult to focus on the front sight with my crappy eyesight.

 

Anyway, thanks for the pic. I always forget they make them in a "standard" size as well.

Had the XS big dot sights on my glock 26 for a while. Did *NOT* like them for distance/target shooting, and wasn't especially fond of them for close up shooting either. Could have been just me, but I was very in-accurate with them.

I was thinking about putting one on my LCR, but I'm not sure. I've seen them on the Smiths but not on the LCR. I want to shoot with a set on before I take the plunge.

Can you change out the sights on the LCR? It's just a standard blade front sight that's integrated into the barrel isn't it? Either way, XS doesn't seem to list anything for the LCR on their website that I can see.

No, the front site is pinned. I saw a picture in a gun magazine with a LCR with the XS on it and it looks nice.

As usual, I spoke too soon. Google search turned up a big dot for the LCR right on the XS site. That's what I get for spending all of 15 seconds searching the first time and then posting :doh: http://www.xssights.com/NewProducts/index.html

That would be an awesome set up for that little gun. I still can't get over how nice that trigger is.

Pete, the only DA trigger that compares is on my S&W model 15. It's smooth and light.
