I dont get it? Whats so bad? May 9th parade has been happening for years, and is as important to russia as 4th of july is here.

 

the thing about Stalin.... it is a touchy subject as you have alot of people, old timers, who want russia to go back to socialism and communisn. Stalin is their savior, and those supporters typically deny the fact of how many jews were slaughtered at his hands. It is a big issue is russia and on many of the shows on tv.

 

edit... the communist party is pretty big in russia, and has as much as 25% of the vote as supporters.

Here, too. Except we call them Democrats, and they have significantly more than 25% of the vote.

Oh Maks... ... The old timers DO NOT want Communism. And as for Stalin...... How could you say that they like him... He killed more of his own

people than WWII. Did you ever hear of the Ethnic purges before the war.

It's not only Jews that he singled out. Turks, Gypsies, Ukranians, Poles,Mongols...... the list goes on and on. The only reason alot of people

"chose" sides was to get away from that demon, and Serfdom was the only life they knew. The only people who want Communism back are the ones who

had worked for the Government, not the common folk.

Everyone breathed a collective sigh when Stalin finally passed (and then the heads immediately started wiping each other out).

Though, its true, most of the current government *would not mind* going back to their Soviet system. I don't think its so much being communist/socialist, but whatever it takes to thrust Russia back to its former power status (which is being communist/socialist in this case).
