buba'd Jap Arisaka T-38

Saw while going around the stores, dropped by Cheyenne mountain. they had a Jap arisaka. didnt know much about them. came back next day. Barrel was dirty but strong rifling it looks like. came back today armed with knowledge... and it turns out it was bubab'd. front foregrip was chopped off. sniff sniff. $100.

i was there three weeks ago when i bought my M&P15. i must have missed that one. i think i was too focused on the Garands they had.

Maks I looked at that rifle a few times, unfortunately I dont think I want to purchase one thats been cut up.

holy crap, RCBS dies for 6.5 Jap are $150!?!?!?!

 

I can get you lee dies for it for $30 or so. Your best bet for a caliber like that, reload.

 

Although, Norma still makes ammo for it.

Norma is usually about 30-45 dollars for a box of 20. Check out gun shows if you can.... half

the price.

I saw a bubba'd Arisaka at Valley forge like 2 or 3 shows ago, they were only asking like $60. Had a pretty nifty amateur camo paint job on it. But NIC's was down because of the snow. And I'm pretty sure it had been re-barreled.. so lots of "what-if's" there.

Thanks. This is probably the cheapest 6.5 jap ammo i've seen. Anyone has any experience with these?

 

I guess I have to start reloading if I'm going to shoot this thing often enough.

I have an inherited Arisaka Type 99 which shoots 7.7 X 58 JAP. I normally buy Hornady from Cabelas for $25 a box:
