ROFLMAO!!!!

Recommended Posts

So I am babysitting for my sister this weekend, and my 96 year old grandma is up visiting to see the kids. My little 6 year old nephew just told my grandmother (his great grandmother) " Nanna Rose, you need to go get the iron out of the closet. Your skin is all wrinkly!!" I almost fell over laughing so hard. Fortunately my grandma took it great and started laughing hysterically. Gotta love kids, ya never know what they are going to say.

I would love to have a grandparent that was 96 years of age. The knowledge she must have about growing up during WWll, the great depression, the 50's era, how much things have changed. You are a lucky man usnmars. Have fun with the kids.

My great grandmother lived with us for many years before she died. She was 92 when she died. She migrated to the USA from Puerto Rico. Then she lived in Japan while my great grand father was in the Marines. Ironically she spoke Spanish and Japanese perfect, But her English was bad. LOL

LOL, Dont you just love Grandmas. :)

My Grandmother (86) is hardcore, raised 6 kids by herself, her husband died in his late 40's if I remember correctly. She makes light of the things we find troubling today, she was an ER nurse for like 30+ years, so anything medical to her is ahhh quite your bitching.

But it's cool to have sit downs with her and talk about the days way before your time.

Yeah, my grandmother was a nurse in North Africa and Italy during WWII. She came back from The War and was one of the few females to earn her private pilot's license....in the 40's! I thank God every time I get to see her and talk to her about what she knows and what she's done.

One of the most amazing stories she told me was about her journey, by sea, over to N. Africa. She said, nonchalantly, "We used to wake up every morning and count the ships around us to make sure everyone was still there."

She was also raised in NJ! Funny how things go full-circle, sometimes, considering I was born and raised in FL with no ties to the Northeast.

I have a little half-sister (huge age gap), and she's getting to that age where she just blurts out whatever is on her mind-- pretty funny times.

As for my grandmother, bless her that I still have her around. She's lived through pre-western Orient, the introduction to the spheres of influence (and some of its pitfalls), imperialist Japan, WWII, Korean War (where she witnessed her husband [my grandfather] be treated as a POW by the Japs, and then US-- who ultimately made him one of their interpreters and gave him some medal for his troubles  ), rebuilding of that nation, and then the past few decades. She has her tricks.

About 30 years ago I played Santa Claus for the family Christmas party. The kids ranged from 5 to 11 years old. All the kids were fooled and excited that Santa had come to visit except the youngest which sat on my lap and whispered in my ear I know its you Rich but I'll play along so the other kids don't find out its you. I laughed so hard I almost blow my cover. It's still makes me laugh when ever we get together for a family party.

    • If you’re going to VA, buy 2 radios.  Program one for here and one for there.  If you guys are buying Baofeng radios do yourself a favor and get a tactical antenna for it,it’ll extend your reach.
    • Both our memories are a bit lacking. 3 bystanders were hit by NYPD bullets and 6 were hit by fragments at the Empire State Building shooting. The bullets later were determined to have passed through the bad guy as I said. He was not a big guy. The police fired 16 rds and 7 hit the bad guy.  Spray and pray?  I think not.  These officers fired until the threat was stopped and everyone is moving. Have you ever tried to hit a moving target whilst you're moving.  If you watch the video from where the police encounter him, the BG draws his gun from his bag, NYPD guys shoot, and the BG hit the ground is about 2 or 3 seconds.  The closest officer is maybe 12 feet or less.  The closest cover are those concrete flower pots.  If the officers chose to take cover before drawing the BG would have had a chance to shoot at least one officer. Know your target and beyond?  Agree 100%.  However, this by the Empire State Building at 9 am during the week.  There are bystanders and traffic in every direction.  The officers had a choice of doing what they did or letting the BG shoot them with his 1911 and shoot someone else. I think they made the right choice and the same one I would have made.  The officers exercised the best option in protecting themselves and the public. The first video is the police shooting.  The second is more detailed and gives you a lot of background information on the shooter. One thing this shows is if NYPD had to use fmj undoubtedly more bystanders would have been wounded perhaps killed.  NJ's hollowpoint law. only creates more danger to the public.
