matt6669 71 Posted August 6, 2010 So this past weekend Eric and I took a little trip and I came home with two new guns. Top gun is an ex-sniper that I plan to re-sniper as funds allow. Bottom gun is a Yugo Mauser without any markings. Eric has a few ideas of why this is like this but I'll let him chime in if he see's this msg. Enjoy!! matt6669 71 Posted August 6, 2010 So you sold Mosin's in order to buy Mosin's? That is friggen delicious! Not quite but close Ray. I sold two Mosin's to buy my new shotgun and the Mauser. And I traded another mosin for the ex sniper. It's all about making the collection better and a hex mosin just wasn't doing it for me.

matt6669 71 Posted August 7, 2010 The Mauser is sweet, it's got some of the nicest wood grain I've seen in a while. If i wake up early enough tomorrow I may take a trip to CR to see how it shoots.

matt6669 71 Posted August 9, 2010 So it turns out this Mauser is a lot rarer than I originally thought. Turns out these are extremely rare (a certain Mauser collector has only seen one before he saw mine in his 20 years of collecting). Apparently the story behind this type of Mauser is, it's a 24/47 refurb'd by the Yugo's. From there they either sold it to another country for the other country to put their own crest on it or it could of gone to Guerrillas. Neat piece of history, definitely going to hold on to this one for a while!! M
