Medic3166 0 Posted August 14, 2010 I stumbled upon this just now... a carbine kit for a Glock receiver... If this was the model with a fixed stock, it would be legal in NJ, right? Link to the page: http://glockparts.com/Products.aspx?CAT=

sirsloop 1 Posted August 14, 2010 Isn't that still considered a pistol? Once a pistol always a pistol?
BobZ 0 Posted August 14, 2010 does the whole pistol clamp into it or does it have its own barrel/upper?
Medic3166 0 Posted August 14, 2010 The only thing from the glock that it uses is the receiver, and the trigger mechanism. Everything else is built into the slide.
Medic3166 0 Posted August 14, 2010 I want to try and find some reviews for this... I think it would be pretty neat to get one for my G19. I'd like to get a kit chambered for 40s&w; all I'd have to swap out on my G19 receiver is the ejector, and get a couple of G23 mags...
Pew Pew Plates 358 Posted August 16, 2010 Well, it has 2 evil features. So not in this state. As far as federal law goes: I half agree with sloop. But also, i've seen encores with a short and long barrel and detachable stock. You must attach long barrel BEFORE the stock, otherwise its a SBR. Im sure some googling can come up with the laws. Those are federal. PS its super duper UGLY :snooty:

The only downside is that the slide does not lock back on the last round. But then again, neither do AKs. www.mechtechsys.com
Tactical Monkey 51 Posted August 16, 2010 The 1911 version with an AR15 stock adapter would be interesting... However it does look a bit Fugly 8-)
lunker 274 Posted August 16, 2010 Ugly is in the eye of the beholder. It might look funny on a 1911, but a Glock is ugly to begin with so you are not spoiling its graceful lines or anything.
Ray Ray 3,566 Posted August 17, 2010 Why not just get a Kel-tec sub 2000? There legal in this state, but hard to find. Especially the Glock mag models.

Because the KelTec does not come in 10mm like the Mech tech does. So, a 9mm carbine is a great defensive tool. Especially if you have the same handgun that uses the same magazines. jermz1987 243 Posted August 17, 2010 Would be awesome on a Glock 31/32 357sig.

The 2 I felt at the Bullet Hole (92FS and Glock 17) where split on the grips and I could pull it apart. Is that normal?
lunker 274 Posted August 24, 2010 I am in EXACTLY the same boat as you buddy. I have to sell stuff I own to buy new stuff now. It's a damn shame.

gunguy1960 2 Posted January 27, 2011 glennP, regarding mech tech, you mentioned two evil features, with a fixed stock and plain, unthreaded barrel, which mech tech offers, do you still see two bad features?, I just see the barrel covering (1). thanks for any insight! gunguy1960 2 Posted January 28, 2011 do you feel the basic mech tech conversion-fixed stock, plain barrel, no vertical grip, do you think that passes nj rules? what two features do you find on it if you still think it fails nj law? thanks for your rssponse! gunguy1960
