You misunderstand it. It can go through either a NJ or an out-of-state dealer.

thanks, PK. that's what I was confused about. I figured an FFL would know

so if I go to a gun shop in PA, I could just walk out with a longarm. wait... "duh" on my part... Glenn got his over under at Cabela's like a month ago....

You can buy a long gun in PA but they won't sell you one that is not NJ legal.

 

But you should do your own homework too, accidents happen.

PICS (operated by the PASP) is open 7 days a week plus holidays, from 8 AM 'til 10 PM. I think his point was that PICS has extended hours over NICS in NJ, which is handled by a private company using a 900 telephone number.

Yeah just take a ride over to the free state next door , show your stuff , walk out with a long gun , somethin so American about that !!!

I've done it several times at the VF Gun Show and the Philadelphia Armory Show. The dealers all have the necessary papers and know the routine for NJ. It is a liberating experience.
