Mr.Shoot_It_All 13 Posted September 14, 2011 i will be here for ten months till july 2012. i am living in netanya, for those unfamiliar with israeli geography (i was) its on the west coast of israel on the Mediterranean sea. a large gap in israel is in language learning. there are two main languages in the population hebrew and arabic hebrew being the much larger speakers. arab israelis end up knowing 3 languages or learning 3 arabic in the home then hebrew in school, then in 4th grade starts english. the gap exists between cities and outer areas in english acquisition. the program is similar to teach for america, the 70 participants spanning 5 organizers and 5 cities and towns will be english teaching aids in schools where they underprivelaged population has been lacking in their english acquisition.
