Jon 264 Posted October 11, 2011 Like the title says, looking for a lightweight upper w/ chrome-lined bbl that will still shoot good groups, and hopefully cost less than Noveske. Are they the only dog in this fight?
Turbotezza 1 Posted October 11, 2011 You mean like an slick side upper with no dust cover? Like the title says, looking for a lightweight upper w/ chrome-lined bbl that will still shoot good groups, and hopefully cost less than Noveske. Are they the only dog in this fight? Dan 177 Posted October 11, 2011 Perhaps a BCM lightweight? This guys review towards the bottom says his was 1.5-2MOA when new, and around 3-4 MOA now after using it quite a bit (though he says many rounds , he doesn't indicate how many..). My link I have no direct experience with their lightweight profile barrels, just throwing it out there...
Old School 611 Posted October 11, 2011 Jon- #1 SS or CrM barrels shoot better than chrome lined. I don't like chrome lined barrels. No real reason for them. #2 Ammunition has to be capable. My reloads @ 2700-2750 fps shoot rather well. #3 PM me and I'll make you a deal and I'm not on a rifle that I have for sale(I think they're all sold). Jon 264 Posted October 12, 2011 Frank - I know the ammo has to be good. I was looking at chrome-lined barrels due to the expectation of many many rounds downrange. I'll pm you though. Thanks for everyone's input.
Shane45 807 Posted October 12, 2011 KAC SR15 upper. Very light and easily 1.
Jon 264 Posted October 12, 2011 KAC SR15 upper. Very light and easily 1.5 If KAC was in my price range I wouldn't have mentioned Noveske
Turbotezza 1 Posted October 12, 2011 Get a 9mm upper and drill out the hold for the gas tube
Tactical Monkey 51 Posted October 12, 2011 My BCM LW 14.5 shoots really well - never shot it for precision though. It has somewhere around 2k rounds through it, but next time I hit the range I will bipod and rear bag it @100 yards if you are interested. Let me know.
