That oen didnt cost him anything in reality there is already caselaw that says you need a warrant to go searching through someone's cell phone memory. it was a law prohibiting something that was already prohibited by the Constitution.

"The courts are better suited to resolve the complex and case-specific issues relating to constitutional search-and-seizures protections."
