DirtyDigz 1,812 Posted October 13, 2011 Video at link below: Nearly 100 guns which were to be used in Brad Pitt's World War Z film have been confiscated because they had not been properly deactivated. The weapons arrived in Hungary, where filming is taking place, from London on Saturday. A weapons supervisor who is working on the film said that all the permits were in order. World War Z is a big-budget horror film directed by Marc Forster and slated for release in 2012. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-15269303

Recon Racoon 49 Posted October 13, 2011 why would they need to be de activated...i thought they just ran blanks through them? Hungarian gun laws are worse than Chicago's. You have to weld the firing pin channel shut, weld the bolt to the reciever, weld a solid piece of metal to the muzzle, and drill a wide bore hole through the barrel. Since someone didn't hand the right paperwork off to the Hungarian ATU guys, they thought Brad Pitt was starting WW3.
EchoMirage 137 Posted October 13, 2011 in some countries, its easier and cheaper to use real guns, then modify them to fire blanks.....as opposed to having blank only guns. though im sure someone didnt get their kickback, and just wanted publicity.
