All the disagreements seem to have been settled, can we send this thread back on track please?

Regardless of the discussion here, Frank and Ray from Buckeye are now in touch and working on making a Rob Pincus class happen in NJ to benefit the NJ2AS.

I would love to take part in this training if there are spots available.

Me too, which is why I have been pushing to make it happen since the night Rob made the generous offer at the NJ2AS meeting.

Well, for the sake of accuracy, I haven't heard from Buckeye yet - but I have been out all day and then I am off to a wake. I am sure we will be in touch before long. I will let everyone know. Thank you everyone for agreeing to agree. :-) We are really all the best damn people to move this mission forward. I am happy to see the level of cooperation. Let's keep things going in this direction.

Thanks,

I gave Ray from Buckeye your contact info last night, so I assumed he had contacted you. If you don't hear from him soon let me know and I will follow up with him.

When you get to the level that Gun For Hire has achieved there will always be detractors. I believe that it is healthy and you are doing something right when you are not pleasing everyone.

My solace is in the ten's of thousand of people we have trained since 1992 with not ONE single complaint. Not a bad track record and I am very, very proud of my team.

When someone takes a Comparative stab at my classes without ever taken one of my courses I take personal offense to that.

It is quite typical to accuse me of putting the wrench in the plans before knowing all of the details. I am glad that not everyone can afford my high prices.

Anthony

Lets talk about this a bit Anthony.

Lets look at Pistol Training....

Your Urban Pistol I and II classes to be specific. Your cost is $225 each, so for a ONE day class the student is paying $450

For that same $450 per day (mostly for less) I can take the following

Ken Hackathorn 2 Day Adavanced Handgun $450

Larry Vickers Handgun I (Two Day) $450

MDTS Combative Pistol 1+2+3+4 (Two Day) $370

Kyle Lamb Pistol Classes $250 per day

Tactical Response Fighting Pistol (Two Day) $400

Thunder Ranch (Clint Smith) 3 Day Defensive Handgun $930

Magpul Dynamics, Dynamic Handgun (two day) $550

All of the above have been independently reviewed by numerous people, and have published reviews in nationally circulated publications. Most of the above instructors are published themselves.

Its not a matter of being able to afford to take your training.... it's a matter of spending money on classes that are undoubtably worth every penny you pay.

And for me taking a "a Comparative stab" at your classes, see the above. Would you go to a surgeon because he is a great self promoter or to someone else because he has excellent peer reviews, is published, and is cheaper to boot!

Sorry if you took offense, but the truth hurts.

Everything I said in this thread is not speculation, but what I was told by your employees/representatives and those of SJSC.

I would like to personally thank Anthony Colandro and Gun for Hire for the GENEROUS contribution of the time, talent and facilities for our Beginning Shooters Program yesterday afternoon. Anthony even arranged for the donated range time at the Bullet hole.Everyone who participated remarked how GREAT an experience it was. The attendees were taught how to safely and responsibly handle a number of different caliber handguns as well as rifles.

Anthony graciously supplied everything necessary for a wonderful learning experience. Many of his instructors and RSOs were there to help us make this an enjoyable experience for everyone concerned. We had participants of all ages from 12 on up. I was particularly pleased to see several women participate. I believe that the attitude towards firearms in New Jersey will not change until more women find out how safe and how much fun shooting can be as well as how important it is to know how toy defend ones life and family.

I believe the event was a complete success. I would like to thank Anthony, his staff and all the other instructors and RSOs who participated. I would also like to thank Manny and Jen from the Bullet Hole for donating the range time as well as all the free .22 ammunition that was used for the event. Richard Zuendt of ConservativeNewJersey.com deserves appreciation for continuously promoting the event on their blog site. I would also like to thank the Fredy Riehl of Ammoland and Peter Succi of FirearmsTruth for touting this event.

It is amazing what can be accomplished when good people cooperate to contribute to a common goal. I believe that this attitude of working together in a positive way with each other will do more to promote RKBA in New Jersey and the rest of the nation than anything else. I also think that these kinds of events and activities are MUCH more important than any disagreements or misunderstandings we may have with each other from time to time. It is time for all of us to drop the insignificant issues we may have, and instead figure out what we can ALL do to contribute to the cause of restoring and preserving our right to keep and bear arms as Anthony and his group have done on numerous occasions. I am certain that I would not have been able to hold such a successful event as we had yesterday without the assistance of people like Anthony and his band of patriots over at GFH!

Thank you,

No, Actually I appreciate that you guys are willing to assist me with this. I asked Tosser to call me, and I would like you to do the same. Anytime tomorrow before 6:30. Probably 9 AM to 12 Is best. I have a lunch meeting. and then say between 2PM and 6 PM. My personal cell is (732) 233-6506. Let's get a committee of guys together who can get this done. I am *VERY* happy to have the help.

As far as the rest is concerned - I owned and ran two successful businesses for over 30 years before I retired. I still keep an interest in one. There are times that people have to make business decisions and they can't always please everyone all the time. I don't want to second guess anyone on this. I am just thrilled to get the amount of support I *DO* get from not only Anthony, but also people like Chet Wilson of ShootNJ and his people - Dawn and Grant, etc. Cam Green has also offered to help. So, I am actually very fortunate to have all these guys on my team. I am a glass half full kinda guy. It has worked for me as a businessman, and so far - it is working (for the most part) with the NJ2AS. There is more we CAN do, and there is more we WILL do. And having you guys join in and volunteer like this only serves to support my position. Please call me tomorrow, or if you prefer me to call you, just PM me and I will be happy to do so. My life is an open book. EVERYBODY has my cell number. :-) I am expecting a surprise call from the Attorney General's office any day now. :-) Eh - i am old, what can they do to me. :-)

Thanks guys. I am looking forward to working more closely with you.

PS - I know there have been others who have offered to help. For a LONG time I was bogged down in the nitty-gritty of making the NJ2AS happen. If I didn't respond, and you haven't lost interest, please accept my apology for not getting back to you right away. Feel free to call me at the same number. Frankly (no pun intended), there was a long time where I couldn't even figure out *WHAT* I could delegate out and what I couldn't. It is becoming a *LOT* clearer the more we grow and the more our programs are starting to come together. For those who are interested, we are running such events as "Beginning Shooters" programs and Women's Programs" Like a "Refuse to be a Victim". This program is particularly dear to my heart, as my wife is studying to become a rape victim advocate. I would rather see her devote her time to advocating for women to be able to DEFEND against rape instead of just "surviving" it... But I digress.

Anyway, if you thought I was being an asshole and not accepting offers of help - it really wasn't that. I am not and have never been a "natural" leader. I am learning how to do this each step of the way. Basically, I am happy when I don't muck things up. I feel that you guys have been patient and I appreciate it. We are now at the point where we not only *CAN* use your help - but we are starting to learn HOW to use it. So - "mea culpa", let's move on. Anyone who is still interested, please call me and I will get you involved. We have a BIG meeting with Evan Nappen coming up. We need to PROMOTE the hell out of that. I am having posters and fliers designed and printed up as we speak. I will need people to get them out to the ranges, clubs, gun stores, legion halls, libraries and HELL - doughnut shops for that matter. If they let us post it - it is a good place.

I am lining up David Jensen (The Attorney for the SAF/ANJRPC lawsuit) and Alan Gura (you all KNOW who *HE* is) to address our Society in the New Year. Both have already agreed, and it is just a matter of scheduling. We have more appearances planned for Mark Walters Armed American Radio, Tom Gresham's Gun Talk Radio, Gun for Hire radio and other venues. We are being heard, and it is only going to improve over time. Operation Establish Compliance is alive and well. We are finishing the vetting process for Plaintiffs for the first town we are going after, and there is more on the way. So PLEASE stay tuned.

BTW - our Video is STILL getting more and more views every day. If you haven't seen it yet - please check it out on our home page at www.nj2as.com. I think you will ENJOY it as much as I do. OK, enough for tonight. Those of you who have not joined the NJ2AS might want to consider doing so now. I am going to have to raise the dues for new members in the near future (increased processing, web, and other costs make it necessary), but right now it is still only $25.00. It is a small price to pay for being a part of the organization that is going to change the gun laws in New Jersey. See you guys soon. AND THANKS!

Hey Frank,

Great event. Please also a big shout out to Tony from TJ Sporting Arms as well as Grant from Shoot NJ who all drove up with firearms to help and promote the cause. Cameron from GAPP was scheduled to volunteer but the snow laden trees beat him. Jen from the Bullet Hole donated the Range as well as the 22 ammo for the event. It is a pleasure to be a part of the NJ 2A community.

I have no dog in this fight, but it should not come as a surprise that a business located in NJ charges higher prices than a business in NC, TX, OR or whatever. Heck, my house cost 2x as much and is half the size as my brothers' in VA.

Plus once you look at travel, hotel, etc. a Vickers or Magpul class will total far more than a GFH class. We can have a constructive discussion in another thread about our experiences with various trainers, but I do not think that comparing the daily rate out of context is particularly helpful.

INDEED! The dedication we receive from our members and friends is extremely gratifying. The people you mentioned as well as EVERYONE who helped to make this a successful event *ALL* deserve our appreciation and our respect. I know that Cameron wanted to be there, and I appreciate it. Jen and Manny at the Bullet Hole are TRUE patriots and deserve our thanks and our business. Grant and Tony, what can I say - it is above and beyond the call of duty and the event would not have been the same without them. There are *SO* *MANY* people who have and continue to contribute to the success of our Society it is hard to mention all of them. I have made an attempt to do so in the weekly President's Letter I just sent out to the members, but there will always be someone who is not properly recognized. I hope that everyone who gives of their time, talent and efforts understands that I am forever grateful to them for making the NJ2AS such an overwhelming success.

There is so much more to appreciate in the coming weeks and months Frank Virgilio will be addressing the group at the meeting on Wednesday November 9, 2011 and then we have Evan Nappen in December, David Jensen in January and Alan Gura at our February meeting. All these people are at the forefront of RKBA in NJ and throughout the Nation. Please keep an eye on our website for further information about these amazing events.

Thank you,

Most if not all of these trainers travel. I personally have taken classes by some of the above listed IN NJ. Some at SJSC pior to the GFH exclusive agreement.

Forgot to mention Pincus, who this thread is about, is $500 for two days, and travels...

It is great to see so many people taking advantage of the *FANTASTIC* training opportunities available in our state and elsewhere. Keep up the good work guys. You can never be too rich, too thin (not that I know from personal experience), or too good a shot (ditto). :-)

So as it would seem and as I previously said but it was deleted, you do have an agenda. It seems your just unhappyy with the fact that GFH has an exclusive rights to training at the range that is closest to you. Are you even a member of the NJ2AS or just went to the meeting because Pincus was gonna be there?

I don't think GFH should have to step aside to let Pincus do a training session. He has the rights and busines is business. So what there are other training opportunities by other's for less. So what their credentials etc...does that make it right for you to sh!t on his turf. I think your really a POS. The man has the right to charge what he charges. If you don't like it, go somewhere else. Set up with a trainer that you want, somewhere else!!!!

I have met Anthony maybe twice. He conducted himself well both times. I have never taken a class by the man. I have no idea of what his capabilities are but it doesn't matter. Your really out of line for calling the guy out. Especially since he does so much for a cause that most of us care about.

Are you a member of the NJ2AS?

Again, I would just like to add that there is no point in continuing this thread. I believe that nothing productive will come out of it. What I would like to suggest is that we all concentrate on what we can do to further the mission to restore and preserve our right to keep and bear arms for legitimate purposes here in NJ. As much as I encourage everyone to consider becoming a member of the NJ2AS, there are other ways that someone can contribute. The *LAST* thing we need to do is waste time and effort squabbling among ourselves over non-issues. Can we please just make this the last word on this topic and move on to more productive matters.

We have some TERRIFIC speakers lined up for the next several meetings. We need everyone to spread the word. Frank Virgilio will be at the November 9, 2011 meeting in Winslow, Evan Nappen is speaking in Toms River on Saturday December 3, 2011, David Jensen appears in Belleville on January 11, 2012 and ALAN GURA will be in Toms River on February 29, 2012. We will have posters and fliers that need to be distributed. EVERYONE who is interested can become involved in helping to promote these events. If you would like to participate, PLEASE email [email protected]. Thanks. Let's all work together to demand our rights from those who are TRULY our enemies.

Thank you for your cooperation.

Bryan,

I have been to GFH and I agree with everyone who has been to his classes, they are top notch, very professional and would never hesitate to go back or recommend them to anyone.

Also I do agree there seems to be an agenda here, I for one am glad he is in NJ, he probably does more in a day than most of us do in a year for our sport, hobby, and our rights.

Frank, with ALL due respect, you are missing the point. My prices as well as the competency of my instructors are being questioned. With that I must respond. I am not asking anyone else to defend myself or my school here. I have been in this game longer then the average forum user has been on this earth (damn i'm old). Thank you for everything you do Frank but this one is my "red wagon".
