hd2000fxdl 422 Posted January 19, 2012 Sharp design, but I always like different home designs. So lemme guess, no one living there at the time of the fire? Wonder what the value vs owed was?
dajonga 397 Posted January 19, 2012 I photographed the architect/owner on the roof when it was built, around 2000 or so, for the paper I worked for at the time. The inside was much more impressive than the outside, IMHO. Ah, black and white film. How I miss thee.

Murphy4570 15 Posted January 19, 2012 That's a dwelling of some sort? Looks like a warehouse or factory building, designed in the 1960's by some famous architect.

Regulator72 80 Posted January 19, 2012 Well, for once a fire did some good. The owner has been arrested on child porn charges after some fire fighters found kiddie porn in the house.... http://www.APP.com/article/20120118/NJNEWS/301180125 EAGLESWOOD — State Police say images of child pornography were found in a burning house on Dock Road Tuesday, and they have charged the owner with endangering the welfare of children. Gamal El-Zoghby, 75, faces one count of the endangerment charge. The images were found when firefighters cut into a ceiling to get at the fire Tuesday, said Trooper Christopher Kay, a State Police spokesman. Kay said troopers at the Tuckerton barracks got a call at 11:57 a.m. about smoke coming from the house, a well-known landmark at the east end of Dock Road in the West Creek section here. “The troopers found heavy smoke and fire coming from the roof,” Kay said. The Eagleswood Volunteer Fire Company arrived — soon to be joined by units from five other area companies — and entered the unoccupied home to fight the fire. El-Zoghby, a New York City architect and professor at the Pratt Institute, designed and built the house in the late 1990s using a laminate of plywood, transparent fiberglass and resin. Firefighters discovered it also was constructed with a thin layer of stainless steel, part of the home’s defense against hurricane-force winds. That made it hard to cut access holes to get fire suppressant foam into burning interior spaces. Kay said firefighters saw the pornographic images as they pulled down wallboard to get access above a ceiling. El-Zoghby arrived at the house mid-afternoon, and went to the Route 9 police barracks to be interviewed. He was arrested there, Kay said. State Police declined to provide a photograph of the suspect. Firefighters remained on the scene until midnight so they could make sure hot spots in the structure were fully extinguished. The cause of the fire is under investigation, Kay said. matt6669 71 Posted January 19, 2012 Apparently the house is under foreclosure too according to Zillow.
TheLugNutZ 21 Posted January 19, 2012 Apparently the house is under foreclosure too according to Zillow. can you say arson? tho that would be dumb IMO. House burns, insurance pays for new house, new house is built, new house still has mortgage that needs to be paid.
matt6669 71 Posted January 19, 2012 One doesn't have to rebuild the house, he could clear the property and sell the property. Or he could rebuild a house that's not so ugly, and possibly someone may buy it. But the better one is, burn house on purpose, get caught with child porn and go to jail. Now that's karma
TheLugNutZ 21 Posted January 19, 2012 Well he wouldnt be the one building it if the insurance company is footing the bill.
