The video said the intruder also had a gun. Now the fact he did or did not would not matter to me, but I'm sure it matters to others and in this case it actually probably a good thing that he did. Good shoot.

I thought that as well...but Im looking at the house and the neighborhood, and it just looked like a lower class area. with that being said, no, I am not surprised there was a couch in the kitchen.

I am speculating that the couch in the kitchen is for necessity that, unfortunately, many of our seniors are doing. I'm thinking he runs the stove or oven at night to keep that one room warm, thus the couch in the kitchen to sleep on. It's a sad state of affairs for our elderly and fixed-income disabled in the US, but yet, we have money to send all over the world. That's an entirely different topic, so I'll leave it at that.

You are exactly right and it is Cleveland OH not Beverly Hills CA and that is what makes it a great story! To add to what you stated at 78 years old climbing steps sometimes become a challenge so that be another reason.
