cycleron 0 Posted February 29, 2012 Im picking up my S&W M&P 15-22 later this week. I am looking for some recommendations on attachment goodies. I already know Im goning to purchase the grip/light combo. I also want to get a scope. Any thoughts on a scope that wont break the bank (max $100). Maybe something that good for day and night. Thanks Ron

cycleron 0 Posted March 1, 2012 Not rude at all. It’s my first AR and if I ever need to hunt down a squirrel or possum in the yard after dark I’m ready. Plus my 10 year old son thinks it cool.
Anselmo 87 Posted March 1, 2012 I had the same exact attachments as futool posted on my 15-22. With the arrival of my AR-15, the red dot and riser went to the AR and a $40 truglo is on the 15-22. Removed the front and rear iron sights and have the red dot bolted right to the rail.

cycleron 0 Posted March 1, 2012 Is the truglo comparable to the Bushnell? I had the same exact attachments as futool posted on my 15-22. Anselmo 87 Posted March 1, 2012 Is the truglo comparable to the Bushnell? The truglo is 30mm vs the bushnell 25mm. I prefer the 30mm. I don't know that I'd trust the truglo on 5.56 to handle the recoil but on a .22 it's fine so far. Without my glasses (I'm near sighted) I see a star on both red dots. With my glasses I see dots. At first I had the truglo and thought it was a defective. Then I got the bushnell and it was the same. I can hit a softball at 50 yards with the truglo so that is good enough for me. I'm happy with both but I'd probably pick up one of the precision arms sights if one of these should break.
Regulator72 80 Posted March 1, 2012 I picked up a trulglo from Dicks for my sons 15-22, for 30 or 40 bucks the thing works great. I might have spent more in batteries than I did for the scope over the last year. Keep forgetting to turn it off. I wish it had an auto off feature, but you get what you pay for. Now, I remove the battery as part of my clearing and casing of the rifle. In all honesty for a 15-22 I can't see needing much more. Also, head over to 44mag.com and pick up some more magazines. The Mag that comes with the gun sucks to load plus with .22 you blow thru them so fast you need more mags.
cycleron 0 Posted March 1, 2012 Do they make 15rd Mag for this gun. If so were can I purchase them at?
Jon 264 Posted March 1, 2012 Do they make 15rd Mag for this gun. If so were can I purchase them at? They do not make any, but people out of state offer modified magazines. I purchased a bunch of 25 rounders and pinned them at 15 rounds myself at my uncle's house in PA.
cycleron 0 Posted March 1, 2012 J0n Are they hard to pin? They do not make any, but people out of state offer modified magazines. I purchased a bunch of 25 rounders and pinned them at 15 rounds myself at my uncle's house in PA.
Jon 264 Posted March 1, 2012 J0n Are they hard to pin? No. Drill a hole in the appropriate location, insert roll pin, epoxy over it. If your gun came with a 10rd mag with the blue follower(long mag) pull the baseplate off and look for the pin. I just pinned them the same way.
hopper 36 Posted March 1, 2012 i own a 15-22 and got some cool stuff off this site http://www.rrages.com/ , they have 25 round mags pinned at 15 and plenty of sight ans scopes , i currently have a Vortex Red Dot Optical and Vortex 3X Magnifier from http://www.opticsplanet.com/, very happy with both , not cheap like Bushnell or Sightmark but definitely not as expensive as a Eotech , any questions feel free to ask , good luck with it ..
