spwhite 0 Posted March 10, 2012 I have a type. 53 sks I would like to put at different stock on it. The original stock is a little too short for my 6'1" frame. I was thinking of one of the TAPCO SKS T6 Collapsible Stock Black Six Position M4 Type. http://www.cheaperthandirt.com/2TINCSTK66166-1.html will this be legal in new jersey. I tell you the laws here are really confusing to this old country boy from Louisiana. Thank
tony357 386 Posted March 10, 2012 Get together with PK90.. He may be able to help you..The stock would have to be pinned. Tapco compliance kit.. Not sure this kit is NJ legal..

RobertJames 14 Posted March 10, 2012 Don't forget, a detachable magazine on an SKS is no good for NJ.
junkmanted 54 Posted March 11, 2012 I always thought we can have a folding stock on a SKS !!!
Jon 264 Posted March 11, 2012 So long as you keep the internal fixed magazine, you can add a collapsible stock and do not have to pin it. You may run afoul of 922® which is a Federal issue, and I have never heard of anyone getting jammed up for it.

I thought that was one condition for needing 922r compliance.

If you check out the survivor sks boards you will find more info on this than you care to read. IMO I think worrying about 922r is a waste of time. I thought that was one condition for needing 922r compliance. 922 is something that is supposed to be adhered to when modifying a "sporting" gun into a gun that has "non sporting features" I follow it because I have no interest being "that guy" you can follow it or not..
