sks legal question

Recommended Posts

I have a type. 53 sks I would like to put at different stock on it. The original stock is a little too short for my 6'1" frame. I was thinking of one of the TAPCO SKS T6 Collapsible Stock Black Six Position M4 Type.

http://www.cheaperthandirt.com/2TINCSTK66166-1.html will this be legal in new jersey. I tell you the laws here are really confusing to this old country boy from Louisiana. Thank

They've also got thicker recoil pads that might bring the stock up to a comfortable length as well

So long as you keep the internal fixed magazine, you can add a collapsible stock and do not have to pin it. You may run afoul of 922® which is a Federal issue, and I have never heard of anyone getting jammed up for it.

Does 922r even come into play when the rifle doesn't accept high cap mags? I thought that was one condition for needing 922r compliance.

If you check out the survivor sks boards you will find more info on this than you care to read. IMO I think worrying about 922r is a waste of time.

922 is something that is supposed to be adhered to when modifying a "sporting" gun into a gun that has "non sporting features"

I follow it because I have no interest being "that guy" you can follow it or not..
