Newbie Glock 19 question

Recommended Posts

Hey guys. Been shooting for a a couple of years now. Just bought a used Glock 19 from a police officer in Kansas. I also own one other 9MM. This is my first Glock I ever owned and not familiar with the components of it. My other 9mm is totally different cheap gun (Hi Point C9)

Dumb questions - Is it normal when the slide is open for the barrel to jiggle a little? Is doesn't move when the slide is closed. I have not shot it yet, just got it a few hours ago. I know the gun is one of the most reliable guns around, didn't know if this is normal or if it is due to wear and tear and if I should replace any parts.

Your Glock is fine. It has to jiggle a little with the slide back for it to work. have also bought just about the best all around 9mm.

Thanks, I agree it is one of the best all around 9mm, which is exactly why I finally bought one.

Definitely perfectly normal. I believe it's called a "floating barrel" or at least that's what I was told when first looking and learning about the gun.

I bought the G19 Gen4 about two months ago and am extremely pleased with it. So far it's been awesome in every aspect.
