Brady Campaign State Rankings

Recommended Posts

Didn't see this posted yet so here goes. The Brady Campaign has ranked every state in reference to their state gun laws. The lower the number the state has the less gun laws they have. I.E. a state like Utah has a 0 for points which is great while NJ has 72!!! And we rank #2 in the country. Just an interesting look at the countries laws.

Someone post the pic of the amount of money the Brady Campaign had donated to it last year. It's absolutely hilarious that they and all the other anti-gun organizations get the amount of attention that they do when no one honestly gives a crap about them.

Or their membership. IIRC, the Brady Campaign has something like 40,000 members...

Someone should get a side-by-side of this map, and also show a similar color-coded map that shows homicide rate. I guarantee the states with the most gun laws have the most homicide.

You'd be wrong. http://www.deathpenaltyinfo.org/murder-rates-nationally-and-state search for "BY 2010 RANK" to get the ordered list. Most of the states with lots of gun control are in the middle of the pack.

Doesn't seem like firearms really affect the murder rate (at least not in a large way). Look at Vermont, which has had one of the lowest rates the last couple of years, and then look at PA and Arizona, which scored in the 5-6 range.
