JonF 79 Posted June 5, 2012 I'm in. BTW, i was at the static steel match at CJ last Sunday and someone was handing out flyers/applications for the July OB knockdown steel match. It seems the July match will be more of a big deal with 7 stages, 350 rounds minimum and the admission fee is going to be $50 per gun (with all the usual classes). Have any of you OB members/insiders gotten word of this? For that kind of cash, i'm not sure if i'll enter 2 classes or not. I'll Definitely shoot carbine, and probably pistol too but between the admission and the ammo, that's could be an expensive match! But, it doesn't happen very often though so what that hell, might as well live it up. lol

M4BGRINGO 139 Posted June 5, 2012 Yep. Don't know if there is much we can do in Middlesex county as far as 2A rights go. I'll listen to what these speakers have to say. Maybe I can write-in ROSEY!
alec.mc 180 Posted June 5, 2012 the Sat. June 9th match will be a normal Knockdown steel match @ normal price
JonF 79 Posted June 5, 2012 Yes, July 14th, prepare for "FIELDS OF STEEL!!" Looks like there will be cash payout ala the Lewis system so the 30th and 60th loser will also get paid. Great news for Harry! I attached a scan of the form. Knockdown steel 7-14-12.pdf
M4BGRINGO 139 Posted June 5, 2012 What is this Lewis System?
JonF 79 Posted June 5, 2012 Its a way of dividing the results of a class into more than one "winner" so even if you don't finish in absolute 1st place, you still have a chance for a payouts. This is an oversimplification, but, Basically they split the class into thirds and the person at the front of each of the 3 subgroups gets some fraction of the pot. alec.mc 180 Posted June 6, 2012 I emailed John S earlier ( the match director ) he said that they were planning on having a big match, but it will just be a normal match for this month, @ normal price.
M4BGRINGO 139 Posted June 6, 2012 If I beat you (Jon) that is a WIN in my book! No money needed. Don't know what I will shoot in that match. That's a LOT of ammo and my girl needs books for next semester.
