I am going for the trap machine training at 7:30, and will stay for most of the steel match after that. Even before I joined, I shot steel at CJ, I can shoot both pistol and rifle for less than the cost of just one at OldBridge.

What's the cost per gun at CJ??

No extra charge for the shrapnel. Last month I was at OB it was just pelting the awnings.

You mean there's no shrapnel at CJ --- How's that work?

Lead absorbing steel plates???

Seriously -- I've only ever shot steel at OB -- Who puts on the better show and why - OB or CJ??

I am going to preface my comment with this: I am NO LONGER a Board Member, but I did have the honor of being on the Board of Trustees for three years. During those three years (while Mr. Obama was in office) we had an increase of membership the likes of which we as a Club had not ever experienced. Our Membership Committee had to go into overdrive to accommodate the onslaught of applications. Due to this fact and others, several years ago the Board instituted a Policy whereby the Discipline Chairmen were ordered to charge a $20.00 minimum for any non-members who wish to participate. This fee was enacted to provide an incentive for non-members who wish to use our facilities on a regular basis to step-up and join the Club. As crazy as this sounds, there's NO REASON to lower the price to non-members, as we're running out of room to park cars and trucks now. Our dues-paying members are our primary concern, and they deserve a place to park when they show-up to all THREE of the Leagues running simultaneously on the first and third Sundays.

Please don't take any offense, but if we lowered the price to shoot as a non-member, we'd get more non-members jamming-up the already crazy parking situation. At some point in the future, the Club may have to limit participation by non-members in order to give members the opportunity of enjoying their own Club. I don't want to see this happen, so if I may be so bold as to suggest, that whenever possible groups of (especially non-member) shooters get some sort of car-pooling arrangement in place to help alleviate the parking problem. And in addition to NEVER parking on the Range Road, please try to remember to double and triple park in the approved designated areas so that there is enough room for emergency equipment access.

Hope everyone has a safe and fun summer shooting season!
